Breaking Toast — Restaurant in Bologna

Tourist #1 stop - do it first thing! I'll start with the obvious - very good paninis. Good bread, good flavors, lots of options (for meat, vegi and vegan). However, the true magic of this place (and this exceptional rating on all platforms) is the service by the owner Luca. This guy actually CARES for you as a tourist (i bet the locals are fine too). He wants you to fall in love with Bologna. And you do. He has lots of tips of how to travel the city, plus some nice secrets you probably won't find on the internet. We actually set and talked for 30 mins after the meal, coffee and dessert we had. The place has free wifi and recharge stations as well.

Place to get creative, tasty sandwiches on the go. They also have very few mini tables with stalls, but you can just get your sandwich and go. They have a long list to choose from, and all sandwiches are anything but trivial. They are rather quick in preparing and one sandwich is enough to cover for the lunch. The concept is way fancier than a take away pizza or a doner, so I would have expected an appealing selection of beers, that on the contrary is a bit poor for the place. The best welcome to Bologna and definitely a must try out if you're in the city. They have many options both with meat and vegetarian / vegan. I ordered a sandwich with eggplant and hummus and it was delicious- come here hungry as the portions are big.
