Residenza Bianconcini — Hotel in Bologna

First of all if you are going to arrive late, please send a message to Valentina and Alba to give them fair warning. This is not a hotel but a B and B so it does not have 24 reception. myself arrived late and my flight was delayed. Valentina was however in contact with me all the time and was at the door when I arrived in the taxi. She then told me I had been upgraded to the ensuite with a view. It had a stunning view over the rooftops. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. There was an air conditioning unit and a flat screen tv.|I met Alba in The morning as she prepared breakfast (which is very good and has a variety of foods on offer). She made me two espresso and had a nice chat. I left my luggage for collection later. Valentina ordered a taxi in the afternoon. I left it at but late but it worked out fine. The sisters are adorable. After one night stay I feel like we will be friends forever. I have promised myself to return. The location is amazing - just a few yards away from the Pinacoteca. The palazzo is spectacular. Check out the main stairwell. I cannot recommend this place enough. I've stayed at the Rezidenza Bianconcini three times now while visiting Bologna (I travel there for study/vacation) - and it hasn't failed to deliver! The location is PRIME - placed in the old university center of the town. Close to shopping districts, bars and most central museums, it is also only a 10 minute walk to Piazza Maggiore. On top of that, the Bianconcini palazzo itself is stunning (400 years old!!). I've stayed in two of the rooms and both were very clean, spacious, stylish and with a great view over the old town. The communal living-room space is also very comfortable and a nice spot to read over a tea or coffee in the afternoon. The girls - Alba and Vale - are so helpful and obliging. The homemade cake in the breakfast spread is a very tasty special touch. Can't recommend this place...

Where can I start! We were met by Valentina outside the property, first impressions were she was just lovely, a really warm authentic Bolognese welcome. The residence is stunning! If you want to avoid a generic experience, lacking in culture or authenticity then I urge you to stay here!!!!!! The building is over four hundred years old, and yet it is decorated very sympathetically, beautifully clean, with access to a kitchen where you can avail of a delightful selection of refreshments, feels like home from home.
