We stayed here for a week when visiting tuscany for a family wedding. The highlight has to be the roof top bar & accompanying view, when the bar isn't open you can still sit up there with a book and your own beverage and take in the views. The location is also very convenient and at the edge of a ZTL so you can drive up to the hotel if you need, or tram & train stops are a short 5 min walk away. It took us less than 10 min to walk to the duormo & heart of Florence. You also hand your key back to reception any time you leave the hotel, this wasn't any hassle as we were quick to get it back but not something I have experienced before so a little odd to get used to. |The rooms are a little dated but were fine for what we needed, the walls between rooms are paper thin. We were watching TV when we had a call from reception asking us to turn the volume down as a neighbouring room complained, we apologised and did so (youtube ads get so loud out of nowhere!sorry neighbours), but without the noise of the TV we then heard someone in a neighbouring room sneeze, fart and then swear at their own stench. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to a light sleeper.||While the hotel itself is fine, we were unfortunately let down by misinformation from the staff. We left our hire car with their valet on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th Aug, whilst doing so we asked to confirm that we'd be able to collect the car around 6am on Friday 22nd Aug, as we had to leave for an early flight in Pisa. We were assured by the lady at reception that we would be able to get the car back from 6, I asked again are you sure or should we collect the car & find somewhere else the night before, she confirmed that we would be okay to get the car back on Friday morning. On Friday we were sad to leave and asked for the gent on reception to request our car for us, and we were informed the garage does not open until 7am. Whilst he was as helpful as he could be at that point, there was little they could do to assist us as the garage was closed and not answering the phone. We were then informed the car was not in the garage sant antonio which the hotel names as their partner on their website (a 3 min walk away from the hotel) but instead was at another garage a 20 min walk away with very poor reviews. This was worrying and disappointing that we had been misinformed on 2 accounts. We were able to walk to the garage and meet the owner opening up who was able to help us get the car earlier than their opening times so all was well however it is a key detail and of concern to me that the staff onsite did not know the details of their partnering garage or even where our car was located at first. I likely wouldn't have left a review at all had we not had such a negative & stressful ending to our stay - though I hope to have been fair in recounting my experience. ||Tldr; |Rooftop bar is wonderful if a little expensive, rooms and breakfast is average or as you expect, & if you are a light sleeper or travelling with your own vehicle I'm not sure this is the...
Read moreI took my 15yr old granddaughter for a long weekend to Florence and we were given a large, high ceiling room with two single beds made up to a double bed, not a problem for family but could be awkward for others. The only toiletry provided was hand soap on the sink and in the shower. Air conditioning was not cool enough for my granddaughter. We stepped out of the shower between the bidet and toilet, then over the toilet to find a place to stand to get dried. The room, 112, was opposite a bar which was noisy but fortunately, we’d both taken earplugs so not too much of a problem. You can’t blame the hotel for a neighbour’s noise but we mentioned it at reception and they are aware of the problem but there’s not a lot they can do. We were speaking to other people who were there for a week and they were on the 5th floor with a balcony. Maybe the longer you stay there, the higher up you go, away from the noise, or is it the UK holiday company that only pay a low rate??? On the plus side, the staff were lovely, helpful, pleasant and someone was on reception 24 hrs. Continental breakfast was good, plenty of choice and the rooftop bar and views superb. The room was clean and serviced daily and two bottles of water were provided each day. There were all types of nationalities staying there. The hotel is convenient to use to get to museums, churches, the market and is two minute walk to the railway station and bus stops. There are many lovely restaurants and bars outside the hotel and even with the hotel’s faults, I would stay there again because of the convenience, but would request a room away...
Read moreThe only good thing about this hotel visit was the staff who were very friendly and the rooftop bar and staff there. You don’t get a complimentary breakfast for what you’re paying. Also great location in walking distance of many great restaurants and options. You are in a central location and near a train station so there is a lot of convenience.
From the outside walking in you think “wow this is a nice looking place. The entrance and front desk. Then you get to your room, the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on at a hotel. For the rates we paid I would’ve expected nicer quality. The bathroom was so small, shower is narrow and why is there a half screen that barely holds in place while you shower? It was impossible to not splash or leak water from the shower. The bed was made up of 2 twin beds pushed together. That was very disappointing for me to see. Tough bed, flat pillows, no amenities besides 2 bottles of water in a tiny fridge. Just very outdated room and bathroom. For it being in a prime location in Florence you would think it would be a bit nicer in your room, I’ve stayed at motels that are the same quality if not nicer. Do not expect to sleep comfortably here! You’re not paying for comfort but for the location, convenience and access to the rooftop...
