PROS AMAZING hotel Superb location: 5m walk from train station Customer Service: 5/5 amazing customer service always ready to help out with any sort of request you need whether it's dietary or anything else Breakfast: 5/5 their morning breakfast was outstanding He's got hot and cold fresh squeezed juices of 45 kinds you can get espresso latte coffee with soy regular whatever types of milk. They have pastries they have scrambled eggs and sausage and bacon and the scrambled eggs are real not the fake kind and other hotels Laundry: 5/5 this was the best part for us we are in Italy for 2 weeks and we were able to do it with just one carry-on a piece. We spent one week in Florence and we were able to get our laundry done by the hotel for only 20 euros you fill up one of their bags and drop it off in the morning and when you come back and squash and dried and you can fold it yourself. Just let us wash all of our clothes and be ready for the second week in Amalfi Coast Rooms: 5/5 The rooms were excellent beautiful and the daily service was fantastic The beds are super comfortable and the lighting and all the facilities and stuff in there are fantastic there is a room safe so you can keep her valuables there so again fantastic
CONS My only complaint would be that in the bathrooms there is really no privacy from the rest of the room with respect to anyone using the toilet it's pretty echoey so as long as you're very very comfortable with whoever you're staying with then it'll be fine otherwise there will be some tough moments 😎
Conclusion This is the perfect hotel to stage your vacation in Florence location service food everything is perfect and if it fits into your budget you will not be disappointed in...
Read moreBottom line four thumbs up from two travelers. This was a combination working/vacation kind of a trip. We selected the hotel because it was a bit of a boutique with a terrific location. By and large, it delivered as expected. The Market Urban is a four star hotel with five star service and location.
We had a room with a patio/terrace on floor one. The patio was nice and large. Unfortunately, there was literally nothing to see except the neighbors rooms. That said, had the weather been warmer, we likely would have spent a few minutes on the patio just soaking in the morning/evening air.
Most importantly, the staff was all quite helpful and quite pleasant. Joseph checked us in on a Sunday afternoon, he was exceptional. Other staff members were also kind, professional, and helpful.
The breakfast was completely adequate, not elaborate - but enough variety; I would have preferred it if they had "eggs to order" for a 4 star hotel, this is not uncommon. I might suggest reorganizing the layout a bit, moving the meat and cheese platter to a lower level - so that guests could comfortably access it more easily.
Regarding rooms: I found the beds quite comfortable; my wife thought they were a bit too firm. I am used to having closets and drawers for my clothes - the room has an open "closet" with some shelfing - not my preference, but adequate. The hotel does not have a steamer for business clothes - but did have irons and mini ironing boards.
The bathroom was fine, not large, but large enough - the unfortunate thing was the absence of shelfing/counter space for two travelers.
Location was fantastic an easy walk to pretty much everything. A comfy 5-7 minutes to the train station and even less...
Read moreI came down with COVID last minute, and due to this, neglected to cancel my reservation before the deadline established by the hotel. I reached out promptly after I received my charge and asked if was possible to receive a refund. The staff was truly unmoving arguing that there could be no exceptions made even though I have taken accountability, extended understanding for the inconvenience this placed them in, shared the results of my diagnosis, and even asked if maybe a partial refund could be extended. One of the workers there confirmed that the hotel was fully booked, while arguing the effects of COVID on their business. Clearly, they are doing extremely well, and no longer under the strain of COVID restrictions, but still could not make any accommodations. This, to me, feels extremely capitalistic at the expense of people struggling every day in its grasps. Please understand that I get policy and how things should be handled, but because their cancellation policy is you must cancel 7 days prior to your stay, and I received COVID 4 days into that, I was never able to make that cancellation deadline anyway.
This type of treatment especially for someone just trying to recover from my sickness in the States, one of the worst places for a Black person to be sick in and receive adequate, unbiased, healthcare, feels inhumane. Please reconsider staying here if you are someone who respects anti-capitalism, anti-ableism, anti-racism, and...
