Residenza Johanna I — Hotel in Florence

We were very pleased with Residenza Johanna. The room was very cozy for 3 people, a double canopy bed and a single bed in an adjoining room. The bathroom actually had a bathtub with a shower. There was a small elevator and a nice courtyard when you first enter. The breakfast was a buffet of meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, croissants, cereal, juice and coffee. You could eat in the breakfast room or take it to your room. We especially liked the honesty bar where we could get late night drinks and snacks. The location was wonderful, very easy to walk to the David and the Duomo. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was also very close to the train station which made it convenient to do day trips to Cinque Terre and Pisa. Just make sure to check the train schedules because they don't run all night and we got stuck in Pisa with no train. Luckily there was a bus at 1:30 am but it was kinda scary. Stayed here with four other friends for three nights. Located in a gated compound containing the Swedish consulate on the 2nd floor this really is boutique. As previous reviews have stated this is a lovely, local and quiet area of Florence. The staff, Luca in particular were supremely helpful and went out of their way to help. Luca suggested a lovely restaurant for steak and his colleague secured us a table the next evening. The rooms were great (I had a four poster bed) and even though the shower is not the biggest they were very clean and comfortable. ||Breakfast taken in a hotel opposite was filling and plentiful and the heating was very effective for the cold nights. We utilised the honesty bar for some water and a beer and to our surprise this was given to us as a complimentary. Thoroughly recommend this...

This residence is part of hotel Bonafice. It's not in the hotel but located in the building just in front of it. However you get to use all the hotels advantages.

Friendly and helpful staff, fluent English.

Very nice, beautiful, old fashioned rooms (in a good way). Large bathroom with a bath (and shower option). Large bed.

Great location near the city and near parkings outside the ztl (limited traffic zone).

Large and very good organised breakfast (you write down what you want and the staff brings it to your table in the morning).

The hotel offers luggage deposit if you want to visit the accommodation after check out, they also let you use the bathroom anytime if needed after check out and before you collect your luggage.
