Room Mate Isabella has a very good price performance ratio for Florence and the service provided on site corresponds to the price of the overnight stay and that is what ultimately matters. ||I’m a frequent traveler and used to stay in 5 star high end hotels as well as 4 star, so some time you have a good comparison and know what to expect||The location is perfect, all the sights are within walking distance. The entire hotel team (breakfast, reception, and housekeeping) is well-trained and dedicated to customer satisfaction.||Breakfast consists of a buffet and I think there is something for everyone. The good cappuccino and the friendliness of the staff at breakfast are particularly noteworthy. If anyone would like additional egg dishes, this can be arranged at no extra charge. Since it is a small hotel, the atmosphere at breakfast is quiet and relaxed.||The photos of the facility and the rooms on the booking pages correspond exactly to what you will find on site. The quality of the mattresses is average to good - I found the bed linens to be very good. I stayed in two different rooms because I had to extend my stay (Standard and Deluxe Room). I recommend the Deluxe Room for two people as it offers more space for suitcases and to rest. All rooms were cleaned very well every day.||The following points need improvement, although this depends on the architecture of the building and is probably not immediately:||The soundproofing throughout the building is not very good; you can hear absolutely everything that's going on above and next to your room. |I also have to say that some guests don't behave properly in hotels and think they're alone in the hotel. |In rooms 27 and 37, the shower is visibly covered in black mold along the silicone seal, and in my opinion, it's unacceptable to offer this to customers. These are the only negative points I noticed during my stay of 6 nights. ||In short: this hotel is aimed at guests who love beautiful interior design / small hotels / attentive staff and a central location. ||I recommend this hotel for a stay in the beautiful city of Firenze and would book it again.||Heartfelt thanks to the entire team I met during my stay, especially Davide for his professionalism & who organized a 2nd room for me at short notice due to a...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Room Mate Isabella. I stayed there also in May 2024. ||This visit was unplanned. Enroute to Italy I lost my passport in Zurich when an airport employee returned the wrong passport to me and I did not realize it until I reached my final destination in Puglia. ||I choose to get an emergency passport in Florence because I love the city and wished I had more time when I visited a year prior. |I was also more comfortable because I knew the hotel and the location. ||I was grateful to get a reservation with less than a week notice. I even got the same room I had the year prior. ||I love this hotel and their staff is very friendly and helpful. I was happy to see many of the same staff from the year prior- Davide, Alessandra. I also met some new staff who were equally delightful. ||Ana Marie in particular was very helpful. She helped me find great restaurants in the area and helped when I had issues with google maps which seems to happen to me in Europe. She mapped out a route on their map that was more straightforward and avoided the crowds. ||I obtained my emergency passport on Thursday and was due to fly home the next day. I left the hotel at 630 am and went to the airport. My first flight was delayed coming in and I had a tight connection in Barcelona I never would have made my connection. I opted to stay in Florence rather than get stranded in Barcelona. My airline could not get me out with comparable service until Monday. ||I called Roomate Isabella back and gratefully they were able to accommodate me. I even got my same room back. It gave me great peace of mind to go back to a familiar environment and familiar staff. I had many mishaps with travel in 11 days and did not want any additional stress. ||I returned to the hotel and enjoyed the delicious breakfast while they got my room ready. They gave me frequent updates about my room status. It all worked out perfectly and allowed me to enjoy the weekend in Florence and finally relax and enjoy myself. ||I highly recommend this hotel. I will...
Read moreFlorence is a magical in many ways and the Room Mate Isabella the perfect place to call home while you explore the city. This small hotel is in a 17th century building that exudes character. (George Eliot and Fyodor Dostoevsky both stayed here.) The high ceilings, heavy double-paned windows, and very thick walls insure a restful environment. Situated on the most elegant street in Florence, the Isabella is a true gem. ||This is a walking city and the Isabella is perfectly situated in the center of the things, just minutes away by foot from almost all of the famous sites. ||The king-size beds and linens in the deluxe suites are very comfortable. Updated marble bathrooms are very nice. Rooms are available with either tub/shower combination or walk-in shower. Plenty of hot water!||But the biggest reason my review gets five stars (wish six were available) is the small but very friendly and efficient staff. They go out of their way to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. That means very quick, personalized service. My wife and I were greeted enthusiastically with a smile every morning. And such a great array of foods for breakfast, something for everyone's taste.||You can stay in impersonal, more expensive hotels, or less expensive, bare-bones closets with no charm. The range is wide in Florence. But the Room Mate Isabella is where we will return because we were made to feel like we were at home during our stay. We can't say enough about how welcoming...
