The new Giunti Odeon is finally a reality. Months of controversy, a year of work, to now arrive at the opening to the public of a bookstore/cinema where you enter and feel catapulted into a contemporary city.
you can read, buy books, have breakfast, lunch and dinner from 8.30 in the morning to 20.30 in the evening on the ground floor of a building that has a century of history, which is loved by Florentines.
from 9 pm the ground floor will be closed to the public and will open the Gallery with a program, curated as always by Marco Luceri and which will be able to accommodate 194 people.
It seemed to become a library-restaurant the legendary Cinema-Teatro Odeon in Florence, putting an end to the historic projection activity of one of the last remaining theaters in the city center. Did not disappoint its a nice spot to chill and take a break from the heat outside. They were playing an animated movie while i was in there in the afternoon.
You can tell the locals from the tourists lol they are the ones working on laptops in the gallery while tourists are all recharging sleeping or resting their legs 😂
Unfortunately ac is not on or if its on its running on zero power once you settle down it gets better but its pretty warm inside as well.

Read moreSCAM! We bought two tickets for the movie but because of some electrical problems in the building it wasn't displayed (we waited 45 minutes at the cinema). We were told that we will get the reimbursement for the tickets and asked to write an e-mail. We got one reply but they told us that we won't get any money because we bought tickets via the ticket maschine (as we were asked for in the cinema). Our next e-mails are not being replied (we suggested PayPal, revolut or any other payment methods to get the reimbursement). The IG account wrote us that 'we need to wait'. But nothing has happened for many days. They just hope we will stop writing them as we were just some tourist from abroad that won't come back to them or to the Italian police. So...
