This is a good museum to wander around if you are in the area as it a good opportunity to see inside of an old Milanese palazzo that was bequeathed to the city after the last Countess passed away in 1945. The Palazzo Morando itself is an 18th century palazzo decorated and furnished from that period and features a collection of antique objects, sculptures and paintings. The paintings include portrait painting as well as scenes of everyday life in Milan and important historical moments between the 17th and 19th centuries. Part of the museum has the collection of Costume and Fashion of the Municipality of Milan, clothes and accessories dating from the seventeenth century to the early 2000s. Entry is FREE, but there is a donation box.

Hugely disappointing history museum for the grand, proud, wealthy city of Milano. Exceptionally poor curatorial work - a hodge-podge of stories from Milano, the building, and the families that lived here, no storyline, no background. Very hard to follow even though we are museum goers. Names of grand historic personalities pop up with no information at all. English explanations by individual works of art are minimal. How is this possible for this wonderful city that deserves a glamorous presentation of its history? And the collection itself is outstanding. Add to this that there is no place to sit down and contemplate the gorgeous rooms; minimal ventilation and no air conditioning in a hot climate and small rooms that deplete oxygen and make you light headed, alas really all I can say is: proud Milanese! Please pay the tribute to your glorious city that it deserves.

I did not have high expectations of the museum, mostly because of its name and its location in a fashion district, where I usually come across people of questionable intellect. Nonetheless it turned out to be one of my favourite museums in Milan. The rooms contain paintings, sculptures and other mementos that would be most appreciated by people interested in the architecture of Milan. I really wish there was an information brochure about the museum. The entrance is free.

Great museum in the milanese palazzo with three exhibitions: - paintings and interiors from 15, 16, 17, 18th centuries; - Momenti di Moda - about five or six rooms with a display of most representative moments in the Italian/milanese fashion; - contemporary art. I enjoyed the paintings from the era, esp of Duomo and historic moments of Milan. Fashion display was very modest when compared to the super rich history. Entrance is free, daily from 10-5pm.

Originally built in the 16th century, the building has been converted into a museum and retains architectural influences from the 18th century. Aside from the permanent art display upstairs, there is also a haute couture exhibition being hosted until November 2018. The exhibition and event space on the ground floor is currently hosting a collection of photographs and newsprints from World War I.
