This place was really good value for money and really good location- was just one minute from the Duomo! The room was clean and the bathroom was huge.
However, there was some issues. We left our bags in the morning when we checked out. I messaged on WhatsApp asking if we could collect them at a specific time. The host replied saying yes and to message him when outside. When we arrived at the time and messaged he didn’t appear for half an hour- with zero contact. He said that his phone was on charge so didn’t see our messages. We had already agreed a time so surely you would be there or keep an eye on your phone? This meant we missed our train to the airport, and almost missed our flight home!! The bags had our passports in which put us in a really difficult position. When he arrived he was trying to laugh off the situation. He then proceeded to charge us the €15 bag drop fee after all this (for just keeping our bags in essentially a dusty airing cupboard). We tried to argue but he wouldnt back down and we had to run for this plane we were already about to miss.
In addition, although they were probably sent with nice intentions. We did receive 2 messages in the late evening about how beautiful we were. Although I am sure this compliment was sent with good intention, this did make us as three girls in an apartment they manage feel uncomfortable.
The place is good value for money, but dont leave your bags there , and parts of the experience were quite...
Read moreThe apartment was in a terrible and unacceptable condition. The bathroom was full of mold, with an old shower and no bath mat provided. There was only one small bedsheet, despite the booking being for two people. The flat is located under the roof, where the air was unbearably dry and filled with a very unpleasant smell, making it difficult to breathe. I even experienced health issues in the morning because of it. On top of that, the lack of insulation meant we could hear every noise from the corridor. It feels extremely disrespectful to treat guests this way. Even if it is a family business, it is unacceptable to rent out such an old and neglected flat just to make money, without making any effort to provide even basic comfort or hygiene. In addition, they require guests to pay the city tax in cash, and if you choose to pay by card, they charge an additional fee, which seems illegal to me. On top of that, they don’t provide any warning in advance that cash will be needed. For the price they charge compared to the poor quality offered, this should not even be legal. If I could warn others about this flat more widely, I absolutely would. Very, very...
