We arrived just after 630pm so the restaurant was relatively empty so had a choice of sitting in or outside seating. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day and wanted to watch the world go by as we enjoyed our meal. Earlier when the order was being taken, we felt that it was not a very friendly place and as time progressed and as we ordered more of the food and drink, the attitude towards us changed. It is a relatively expensive dining compared to the ones in the area and majority of the places we had been to- but the ambience and food makes it worthwhile. The girl who waited on us was brilliant with explaining the food ingredients and it is a shame that they don't have the option of tipping on the card. Cover charge of €3 per person is automatically added to the bill. We wanted to add more for the 20yearold girl who visits London often. We chatted a bit when we told her that we were from London. Restaurant interior design is done tastefully and is not very loud. Very pleasing aesthetically. Melon Chello shot was sweet and the Pistachio Chello shot was just fine. LOREN'S HOUSE APPETIZER is just superb. The uploaded pic is named as Sharers Platter. Chilli Olive oil just hits you the first time you have and later on you get used to it. Bread slices we thought was complimentary but it was not. Bottle of Aglianico was €40, since having it for first time was more like tasting session and lived with it 😜. Dessert was brilliant, loved the Ferraro Rocher spongecake with Chocolate filler and Pistachio with Ricotta cheese with Chocolate filler. Vegetarian options are good and we had Ortolana pizza which is thin pizza with veggies - TOMATO, BROCCOLI, PEPPERS, AUBERGINES, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL Lovely choice! Overall a great time and excellent service by that girl ( apologies - forgot to ask her name - girl with blue apron on). Such a shame that you can't add tips on the bill when you...
Read moreIf you're seeking an extraordinary dining experience in Milan, look no further than Sophia Loren. This restaurant not only pays homage to the Italian icon but also delivers a culinary journey that's nothing short of exceptional.
Let's start with the pizza—absolutely excellent. The crust is perfectly crispy, the toppings flavorful, and it's a true slice of Italy on your plate.
Now, onto the spaghetti a la vongole. It's a seafood lover's dream come true. The combination of tender clams, al dente pasta, and a fragrant sauce is simply delightful.
But what stole the show for me was the steak. It was cooked to perfection, and the sauce accompanying it was a revelation. Each bite was a testament to culinary artistry.
And when it comes to desserts, Sophia Loren doesn't disappoint. The sfogliatelle, a classic Italian pastry, is a must-try. But don't overlook the cheesecake—it's downright decadent.
Now, let's talk about service. Sam and his team deserve special mention. Their attentiveness and professionalism added to the overall dining experience. It's the kind of service that elevates a meal from great to unforgettable.
I must note that dining at Sophia Loren comes at a price, but as the saying goes, "Quality has a price," and here, they absolutely deliver. After all, indulging in a culinary masterpiece is akin to driving a Ferrari—it's an experience worth savoring.
Sophia Loren Milan is a culinary gem that embodies the essence of Italian cuisine and hospitality. Whether it's a special occasion or a desire for a memorable meal, this restaurant is a...
Read moreThe restaurant's facade was nice looking and we went in due to the rainy weather. When we got inside we sat down with only two menus (we were a party of 6). When the waiter came to check on our order they then noticed the unequal amount of menus at the table. That was not that bad. We had to then wait for our meals for about an hour during which we checked with one of the waiters who, I hope did not know how to respond to us, went to who we can assume was the head waiter to ask them about our meals. Just as we were about to leave, then miraculously showed up with our meals. The 5 cheese pizzas looked like they only had 2-3 cheeses at most, and the carbonara looked as if it was not going to be enough, and it was not, also the meat was a bit too crunchy. The only thing that came on time was the coffee (espresso) as well as our two bottles of water (of which we ordered both still, and got one carbonated). Thinking it was Milano, we expected a lot more out of our food, but we were very disappointed. We had paid patronage to other restaurants in different parts of Italy during the past couple of days, and this was the worst to come. All other places gave out free bread and parmesan when we ordered, but here we had none of that.
When we ordered the bill at least, it was relatively quick. Unfortunately they showed us a bill with another table's meals that was double in price. We were able to get it sorted and provided feedback for the...
