What a gem of a place! A lovely B&B on the fourth floor (with lift thank god). Really spacious room with such a comfy bed. Room had mini fridge, sofa, big wardrobe & tea / coffee making facilities. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts & any questions we asked were answered with lots of advice or recommendations. Breakfast was continental that you ordered on a google form the night before. The pastries were delicious & so fresh, along with yogurt, cereal, toast, fruit & of course coffee! The location was fantastic. Step out the door onto lots of restaurants & bars, the Roman forum about a 2 minute walk away & the colosseum no more than 5 minutes. We walked to all other sights such as Trevi fountain & pantheon. A choice of 2 metro stations on line B just over 5 minute walk away (which you tap onto for a ticket just like London). Straight into Termini station where you can pick up line A metro or other train lines. We took the metro to the Vatican as we had early tickets, but wandered back, stopping off for lunch, then sights, then more drinks. So the Vatican is walkable, but it is about 45 minutes away. |I really recommend this as a place to stay. In Rome, you don’t need a fancy hotel - just a great base, with lovely hosts in a good location for eating, drinking & sightseeing, all of which this...
Read moreWe chose this accommodation well in advance of our trip to Rome because of other good reviews about it’s location in The Monti District close to The Colosseum. We knew the hosts only had a few rooms but there were many reviews about the kindness and efficiency of the hosts and given the very reasonable rate had no hesitation in booking. The hosts kept in touch over entry arrangements - it takes forever to get through Fiumicino airport but getting access was easy. What a beautiful building, with original caged elevator and the accommodation is welcoming, spacious and comfortable. The hosts Alessandro and Roberto were wonderful, welcoming us and showing us the room and explaining how to order for breakfast which is included and more than enough to see you off to explore this magnificent city. Check in and check out were easy and we cannot over emphasize the great position this B & B is in. There is an excellent restaurant literally 100 yards around the corner Alle Carrette behind the gelato shop on the corner. We ate there every night and is mostly frequented by locals and is very good value for money. We would not hesitate to return. We walked everywhere even to The Vatican - didn’t use any other transport other than to and from...
Read moreMy wife and I spent four nights in October as guests of Alesandro. Our room was one of three that he manages while living in an apartment on the same floor. It has been his family home for multiple generations and is now a B&B. He owns the entire fourth floor. Our well-furnished room was very quiet. We were thankful we had outlet adapters. The photo shows his coffee machine that makes several coffee beverages with or without steamed milk as well as hot chocolate. He accommodated an early breakfast for us one of our days with a breakfast tray in our room the previous night. On our departure day he prepared breakfast for us early so we could catch our plane. (Breakfast is normally between 8:30 and 10:30.) We left a purchase in the room and didn't discover it until we were home. Allessandro had found it and is handling shipping it to us. He manages his B&B very well and speaks English very well. We found it conveniently located. There are several restaurants and shops immediately outside the B&B. Although the building is over 200 years old, the interior rooms are freshly remodeled.||||We appreciated Alessandro's extra thoughtfulness in handling the shipping of an item we left...
