DVE Suite Rome — Hotel in Rome

When making the booking for this accomodation, I thought it was a hotel, so had trouble finding the entrance when I first arrived. But when I found it, I realised this accomodation is more like a bed and breakfast on the third floor of an apartment block.||||However, don't let that take away from the great standard of accomodation... ||||The room we were in was very fresh and modern. ||It had a double bed on the bottom floor with an ensuite bathroom and a spiral staircase leading up to a mezzanine level, where there were twin beds and another ensuite bathroom. The ceiling was ornately painted too (pictured). Overall, it was a very spacious room, with all the facilities you would need and had a great view over Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.||||Immediately infront of the building, there is an entrance to the Metro Underground line (Vittorio Emanuele station) which provides easy access to much of the main sights, including the Vatican.||||The owner was very friendly, accommodating and reliable. He communicated with us over WhatsApp and this was a very easy way to pass information between us and a convenient way to place breakfast orders.||||Due to the Covid situation, the owner was delivering breakfast to our door for us to eat in the room, but there was more than sufficient space and facilities for us to do this comfortably. ||||We provided the owner with our breakfast order the night before over WhatsApp and the time we wanted it. Then, in the morning, ten minutes before breakfast is delivered, the owner would call the room phone to make sure you were still ready for it. The breakfast was always plentiful, generous and delivered on time every morning. Wir waren für einige Tage hier zu Gast. Als wir angekommen sind wurde uns als wir parken wollten wir Problem bewusst: vor dem B&B gibt es ausschließlich kostenpflichtige Parkplätze (gelbe Linien sind für den Lieferverkehr, die blaue Linie kennzeichnet kost Pflichtsieg Parkplätze. Zu belebten Zeiten sind diese Parkplätze eigentlich immer voll und so mussten wir im Bereich für den Lieferverkehr parken um unser Gepäck auszuladen, wenn wir dieses nicht 200m. vom nächstgelegenen freien Parkplatz zum B&B hätten tragen wollen. Des weiteren würde ich es nicht empfehlen vor dem B&B zu parken, da dies ein wahrer Versammlungsort von Obdachlosen und Drogenabhängigen ist (obwohl das B&B an einer relativ belebten Straße ist) und von meiner Seite aus öfters Streits bemerkt wurden und man weiß ja nie, ob jemand auf die Idee kommt, aus Wut gegen eins der parkenden Autos zu schlagen.||Als wir dann den Eingang zu um Gebäude gefunden hatten mussten wir feststellen, dass es zwar einen Aufzug gab, dieser aber nur bis Max. 300kg zugelassen ist, sodass man um das Gepäck in den 3. Stock zu bringen wo sich die Resident befindet, öfters fahren musste. Auch ist der Aufzug nicht nur gefühlt aus der Vorkriegszeit und man hat bei der Fahrt schon ein mulmiges Gefühl.||Als wir dann im vor der Tür standen wurde diese uns von einer extrem netten und zuvorkommenden Asiatin geöffnet, die auch durch Hilfsbereitschaft und gute Wegbeschreibungen glänzen konnte. ||In unseren Zimmern mussten wir dann feststellen, dass es auf den Bildern um einiges schöner aussieht als in Ader Realität. In den 2 Duschen war jeweils viel Schimmel, das auf den Bildern wunderschön aussehende Gemälde entpuppte sich als hässlicher Versuch die Decke zu verschönern. Abgesehen davon bröckelt die Farbe von der Decke und fällt auf das Bett, in die Koffer etc..|||| Das was beim unteren Bad an Größe gefehlt hat wurde beim oberen mehr als doppelt wettgemacht. Der Nachteil am oberen Bad: Personen 175 sind in der Dusche komplett fehl am Platz, da die Dusche eine Höhe von 2m aufweist und der Duschkopf ums ich von oben mit Wasser berieseln zu lassen auch noch Platz braucht. Apropos Duschkopf: wenn man den Duschkopf einstellen will und ihn durch den Mechanismus an der linken Seite festdreht dann ist das rechten Stück wo der Duschkopf drinsteckt immer noch frei beweglich und der Duschkopf klappt immer nach unten. Entspanntes duschen ist unmöglich.||||Zu den Betten: die oberen zwei Betten sind extremst gemütlich. Bei dem Doppelbett im unteren Bereich der Wohnfläche sind sie auch sehr gemütlich. Aber nur, wenn sie darauf stehen immer die Federn der Matratze zu spüren.||||WLAN: laut dem t-online Speedtest 0,56 Mbit/s Upload, 0,62 Download und einen Ping von 29. Ist definitiv ausbaufähig.||||Frühstück: klein aber fein ist hier das Motto. Es gibt 2 Müslisorten, 5 verschiedene Marmeladensorten, Honig, Spiegeleier, Crossaints, Toast, Obst, Nutella und Birnen, Grapefruit und ACE Saft. Dazu noch Wasser und Milch für die Cornflakes. Der Kaffee ist ekelhafter Pulverkaffee und alles andere als zu empfehlen. Beim Frühstück schnell sein, da nur 8 Plätze verfügbar sind. Außerdem sind die Wärmebehälter für die Spiegeleier unzureichend und nach 8:30 gibts normalerweise keine Crossaints mehr.||||Ergo: wenn man nicht zu hohe Ansprüche, bzw. nicht denkt, dass es so aussieht wie auf den Bildern dann ist man hier an der...

Terrible experience. No water

We had a very disappointing stay at DVE Suite in Rome. For several hours, there was no tap water in the apartment. When we contacted the landlord about the issue, he mentioned the water tank was only halfway full and told us to limit our water usage. This is simply unacceptable for a rental property.

Despite claiming he had fixed the issue after 20 minutes, we still had no water, which severely impacted our stay. When we asked for compensation for the inconvenience, he rudely hung up on us and refused, only offering a mere 50 euros as compensation, which we found inadequate. The lack of basic amenities like water is unacceptable, and his attitude made the situation even worse.

We have proof of the water issue and the landlord's poor response. I strongly advise against staying at this property if you expect basic hospitality and respect from the host.
