I really did stumble upon Tiramisu ice cream in Rome that I will miss forever!! It was the first day in Rome and there were five or six mosquitoes flying in the hotel room! My friend and I made a split-second decision to find some mosquito repellent at a local pharmacy. There was a lot of mosquito repellent to buy, so it took us about forty minutes under the scorching Roman sun to buy everything. When we finished shopping to go to the Coliseum, we found a shop near the cosmeceuticals selling ice cream. It was hot and thirsty, so we decided to buy one to relieve the summer heat. Looking at the ice cream in the window, I saw that the ice cream in Tiramisu flavor was almost out. It was supposed to sell well, so I chose this flavor, and it did not disappoint me!! I had my first back and forth on ice cream!! The e ice cream tasted like rum at first, but after all the ice cream was eaten, the mouth was full of coffee! Really amazing! I'll try tiramisu ice cream in other stores later if it's either rum or coffee, it doesn't have the same rich back and forth flavor! Before we left Rome, we made a point of going back to the same place and they didn't make any tiramisu ice cream that day. Other flavors were good, but Tiramisu was the best. So much so that I now regret why I did not eat two ah! I wonder if my boss doesn't even know what tiramisu ice cream he makes!! I'm afraid this place won't even sell ice cream next time I go!
If you're around and you can really try it, you won't be...
Read moreWe were served by two nice ladies at the counter who were very helpful. We ordered 2 stand up cappuccinos as they are charged normally at a much cheaper price in Italy than sitting down at the table. Price ranges we have encountered in Roma have been from 1.50 Euros to 2.00 Euros for stand up coffees. WE also got 3 small pastries that the previous day had cost 1.50 Euros ( we had just bought one to go). When I went to pay - an older man came and rung up 17Euros. Based on the pastries being 3 times 1.5 Euros (4.5 Euros total), I was being charged 6.25 Euros for each coffee. Complete rip off. I was flabbergasted and challenged the man. He then presented me with the menu and the inflated prices. I should have challenged this as it was the sit down menu, but we had to go to get to the Colosseum. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY RIP YOU OFF. And the coffee was not great. That we had been ripped off was confirmed tonight. We went for a walk and ended up going past the CAfe. I asked the price for a small stand up Cappuccino. The lady was very reluctant to give me a price. When pushed she said 2.5 Euros. Which is still very steep for a...
