Very cheap accommodation. Booking has it listed as 3 Star hotel, which it is not in my opinion. My issues were: The elevator is extremely old and scary. If you don't like enclosed spaces you will have a problem. The entrance door to the facility within the house is way too narrow if only one half is opened, the other half is very broken and looked recently broken into. For my single bedroom, there was no bedside light. The only light on the room was very bright and "blue" (high colour temperature. This makes bed time reading very difficult as the light keeps you awake. There were not enough surfaces or hangers to organise my belongings. There were some hooks on the wall which were so close to the cupboard that things fell off when opening the cupboard door. There were only 3 clothes hangers. There were no shelves on the cupboard, only space to put the suitcase. I had to use the bedside table (which has two tiny drawers) to organise my clothes. One afternoon and night there was no running water at all. No shower, toilet drain, bruising teeth nor washing hands was possible, next morning it worked again, but after a tiresome sweaty day in Rome that is just not good enough. The wallpaper was peeling, paint was horribly badly applied, the shower heads of both bathrooms are held together (no kidding!) by hair ties. All bathroom hardware had seen better days. A "bum gun" however was available, which people from Asian regions surely can appreciate. During the day from about 8-16:00 the reception may be occupied, if you try to take a nap during the day you will need to endure quite loud telephone conversations.
Positives: Roma termini in walking distance. Good and fairly cheap cafes in the vicinity for breakfast. Got 2 free small bottles of water during check in. The provided towel had a good size. The room was cleaned well daily.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a super cheap place to sleep in Rome and don't mind maybe smelling badly from not showering, this accommodation may be...
Read moreDo NOT book this place. The owner is a SCAMMER. Me and my 4 friends booked a 6 bed family delux suite here. This "hotel" is apparently owned by the same man as Holiday Rome, Via Carlo Cattaneo, 22, 00185 Roma RM, Italy. We were told only a week before our trip that we had to update our credit card information on Booking.com or else our booking would be canceled. We were forced to pay in cash in person after a week of arguing back and forth online with the owner. When we arrived, we quickly realized the address we were sent was not the same as the one we thought we booked and the room was absolutely NOT the same as the pictures online. The owner had moved us from here to a room at Holiday Rome without consulting us beforehand. The room was disgusting, there was dirt in the sheets, hair on the pillows, mold all over the bathroom, and just extremely run down and grimey all over. When we calmly confronted the owner over the phone, he yelled at us, hung up, and barged into our room to yell at us. He was extremely aggressive and threatened to kick us out, knowing everywhere else was booked and we had no where else to go. We had to stay for 3 nights and felt so unsafe as a group of young girls that we barricaded the door at night. The doors do not lock and he comes and goes as he pleases. We had no privacy and the hallway outside, right by the front desk, always smelled of either fish, cigarettes, or both. We called Booking.com to complain and specifically told them over and over to NOT contact the owner until after we had left Rome, as we feared he would become aggressive again. They went against our wishes and contacted him and he responded to them via email threatening to kick us out and lying about numerous things, such as giving us a refund. Avoid this hostel and Holiday Rome at all costs!!! It is the most disgusting scam I...
Read moreI booked a single room (last one it said) via hotels.com the day before arrival. Upon getting there, the receptionist told me he did not have my booking info. I showed him the confirmation email I got. After looking through his stuff, checking in another guest, and looking through his stuff a bit more, he finally showed me two pieces of papers (I didn't notice if he found them somewhere or printed them) with my booking info on them, generated by Expedia (hotels.com is owned by Expedia). He told me hotels.com didn't inform them about my booking as well as something about the receptionist working the night before, but his English was less than decent so I also had a hard time understanding him. He then told me the hotel was fully booked at the moment and apologized to me. That was it. He was apologetic but otherwise did nothing to help me. I later on found out they actually sent me an email that morning before I got there, so how he didn't know about my booking at first I do not understand. The email didn't even have a title and was written in terrible English that I could not quite understand, but it mentioned "available" and "mistake." Overall, it was a terrible experience. If you have to book a room here, better call them to make sure they know of your booking first, even if the booking website tells you that you don't have to (like the confirmation email I got from hotels.com). Even then your booking might still mysteriously disappear,...
