I had visited this restaurant on an early morning in 2019.. i think it was the month of February and I had just arrived in Rome. I was travelling and had somehow got my card blocked because i forgot the pin. It was my first week of my first trip to Europe! First time using Forex card! And i was out of cash and my friends had abandoned me too.. a gentleman at this restaurant, had helped me contact my parents to arrange for money since I wasnt able to call them. I hunted my bag to gather whatever indian currency I could to get it converted to Euros to survive till the time my family could transfer money. I was 21 yrs old and my first foreign trip alone, being so scared and lost, the gentleman not only helped me contact my family, he also came all the way to the station to help me get a good currency exchange rate.. he ALSO fed me some amazing aloo paratha for breakfast and directed me to the nearest Western Union. I dont remember whether he was the owner or someone working there, but if you are reading this, I really want to thank you again! I actually can never thank you enough for helping me out. Just that support of being there when my own friends from the same country had just abandoned me refusing to lend me money despite knowing that I was in a genuinely difficult situation, meant a great deal to me! God bless you and I will always pray for your success and happiness! For me, you are not only a symbol of feeder of good food but also a reassurance of the existence of humanity. One day if I get to travel to Rome again, I would bring you a lot of gifts from India! Thank...
Read moreThe best 'Indian' food I have had outside of East Lancashire / West Yorkshire... I grew up with friends from Bangladesh, Gujurat, Pakistan, Punjab, India and the food in the humble restaurant is furst class.
The decor may be a bit tired, but ignore that and enjoy the food and hospitality.
The staff bend over backwards to fulfil your needs and understand dietery requirements. My mum doesn't eat onions or tomatoes, I am strict vegetarian but also gluten intolerant ...no problem.
The vegetarian choice is excellent and they really undertsnad good vegetarian food, they will also add green chili or make it less spicy. The poppadums are perfect and they even had Lime Pickle.
The meat dishes looked fantastic, my mum couldn't cope with the generous portion she was served, it was too big.
My children loved their food and tried a bit of everything, the veggie pakora, onion bhaji and veggie Korma being their favourite.
The Dosa are superb, as are the corn breads; Makki Ki Roti. I haven't had such a delicious Masala Dosa in years.
One thing that is very unusual for Rome, there was no service charge, so we gave the lads a very good tip.
We had loads left over and asked the lads to box it up, I then took it and gave it to a couple of the hundreds of homeless that live at Rome Termini Station.
Hopefully my pictures will have uploaded which includes a photo of the bill from August 2023
I higly recommend this restaurant, do not be put off by first...
Read moreToday in Rome termini station I have lost my money purse along with some euros and my Indian banks's debit card and Credit card. I left with no money even to buy a bottle of water. I found this hotel details in website. When I called him and narrated the incident he consoled me and asked us to come to his hotel and have food whatever we want. I was little relieved. After visiting their place he offered us to take food of our choice and also take for food for night. Really it was blessing in the disguise. We had good food which was very tasty and also he packed the food for our dinner. He treated us as his close friend/ relative and kept his promise above our expectation. We thank him and his staff for their great help in need. When we asked him to give his bank details so that money could be transferred to his account. But he was just smiling and said it is his previlage that he has helped an Indian in time and held the tradition of true Indians as saying 'A FRIEND IN NEED IS...
