Stayed here for 4 nights and found it fairy decent for the cost.||||A lot of the terrible reviews about it are fairly old so things have obviously improved. Found the staff to be friendly enough from the limited contact I had with them.||||The rooms are small and I can see problems if you bring large suitcases as there would be nowhere to put them if you want to keep them open but we had no issues with 2 carry on size cases. ||||The shower cubicle was also small and the larger traveler may have problems.||||Rooms were clean as was the rest of the hotel. Aircon worked..a little too well sometimes as it would have been nice to be able to turn it down.||Beds were comfortable and the room had a tiny TV but no English channels...You are in Rome...||||Our room was first floor overlooking the street but the double glazing was excellent as even when it was busy outside you were not disturbed by Any noise and as a bonus of being over the lobby we had WiFi in our room so book room 107 or nearby if you want that. ||||Breakfast was the usual continental type and nothing amazing but nothing terrible.||||The absolute best thing about the hotel was the location. 5 minute walk from the train station meant we had the easiest transfer you could ask for. Plane, train , hotel in under an hour.||||The area around the train station is busy and a bit shabby..but so is the rest of Rome..and lots of other cities, but it never once felt dangerous. Plenty of police presence and it just seemed like normal city life to me. ||||Easy access to shops in the train station and a small mini market opposite the hotel for essentials and restaurants of various types right on your doorstep..I never actually ate typically "Italian" food all the time I was there...not counting ice cream...||||Metro station being so close means moving around is simple and cheap but if you want to walk then the Coliseum took about 20 minutes..use the metro though and save your legs for the sight seeing. Vatican, Spanish steps, Pantheon, Coliseum all minutes away on the metro. ||||I would definitely come back here again based on my experience. I wasnt expecting to be amazed by the hotel and I wasn't but I didn't pay the money required for that kind of experience and it's location allowed me to see Rome with ease and then come back to a comfortable bed which is what I was...
Read moreI've just returned from a mini 4 day break in Rome, where I stayed at Hotel Luce with one of my gal pals. We booked our trip through Expedia so we got an amazing deal with flights and hotel, but we mainly chose Hotel Luce due to it's location.||||The hotel is situated literally a street over from Termini, one of the main train stations in Rome and you can get direct bus transfers from the airport to Termini (and back) for less than $6 each way. Location wise it's ideal and is within walking distance to a lot of popular places e.g Colosseum took 15 minutes walk from the hotel.||||The hotel itself is as imagined, a standard European hotel with older style decor (not that it matters) of which is clean, staff are really friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast provided was actually really good! Crossiants, bread, meats, cheeses, selection of juices, coffee machine etc.. great for a quick bite in the morning before heading out to explore.||||Our room was cleaned everyday, towels that were provided were changed daily and the safe provided meant our personal belongings were kept safe whilst we were out and about. ||||As some of the other reviews say, the hotel itself is slightly on the narrow side in terms of stair wells and space around the room but this didn't bother us in any way shape or form as we spent such little time in our hotel room as we were busy out exploring and soaking the Italian culture, as you should be!||||Also as some other reviews mentioned, the aircon works as long as you don't change the temperature to be any less than around 25 but we found that the room was still cool when we arrived back, and kept us cool throughout the night also.||||The only slight niggle we had was that the hairdryer is our room was broken, but within 5 minutes they'd allowed us access to the room next door in order to use the hair dryer in there.||||Honestly don't understand some of the negative comments on this hotel. It may not be up to certain peoples own standards but really I couldn't recommend this hotel more as the location is ideal!||||(Unfortunatly no photos as I don't usually leave reviews, but wanted to as we had such...
Read moreI stayed from April 12, 2025 to April 25, 2025. They have a 24 hour reception desk which is nice and I think some or maybe all at front desk spoke English and Italian. They only have 1 or 2 vending machines in the back lobby area to get snacks in the middle of the night, but I did not use it because I got their breakfast every morning (7am to 10am). Their breakfast room which was near the front lobby was okay but not great (great being a Las Vegas buffet). They had cold cut meat slices like salami, chicken I think, ham. They also had cheese slices and bread slices though some seemed hard and need to be heated again. They had hard boiled eggs, lettuce, amd tomato slices. They had donuts and pastries some with fruit jelly and some with vanilla or hazelnut or chocolate. They had some fruit juices like pineapple juice and fruit juice. The hotel room I stayed at was a single room with a thin bed and a desk and a window. It has A/C. The shower was small and hard to stretch out to wash but was clean. They had a housekeeper come and clean the room, but I usually told them I didn't need it and they they left after knocking. The bed sheets were white and clean. The fridge was small. There was no safe to store things and no microwave to heat food. Overall, it is a good and clean hotel. The staff in the hotel and breakfast dining area all seemed helpful and friendly to me. The nice thing about the hotel was being very close to the train station just like less than a two minute walk to train station. There are also some convenience stores to buy some food and drinks. There is also several restaurants nearby to the hotel and a laundromat.I wish they had:1) Coin-operated laundry machines inside.2) More vending machine for snacks or sandwiches.3) An ATM machine perhaps to...
