Where to begin.. upon arrival there was no Hotel Rimini sign. If it's a twin hotel, it's time to put BOTH names above the door. I went to check in and there was no greeting from the man at the desk, so checking in was awkward. He bluntly said to give him my passport and there's a city tax, no I can't take your card, it's cash only. Then something about a commission I couldn't make out. So I told him I only had a card, thinking he'd tell me where to go to get the necessary cash. He offered no help, or the fact there's an atm next door to easily get the cash until the 2nd time I went to the desk. So I took the key and went to the room. The elevator was tiny but did the job. If you are more than 2 (or 3 very small) people, it's going to take a couple trips up and down to get the whole group to your room. The room was so hot and given no instructions, I didn't know how to get the air conditioner on. I couldn't find a thermostat and the phone didn't work to call the front desk. So I went back down where the same man was checking in a couple. I heard him tell the couple, "those are the better rooms" and the couple was speaking Italian so they got the better room AND he automatically turned the air conditioning on for them. He was friendly and helpful- to THEM. Why not me? My passport was from the United States, most likely why. I wasn't rude to him or anything. My room was definitely not one of the better rooms. Hard bed, ants crawling on the floor, air conditioning not on etc. I ignored what he told the couple and just asked about the air and where to get cash. This time he was a bit friendly with me. Third time I went to the desk was to buy a drink from their cooler. An attractive young lady was checking in, but he couldn't find something, I don't know what, in the system for her stay. After standing there for roughly 10 minutes, and listening to him flirting with her and her giggling back at him, I put the warming drink back in the cooler and grabbed a different one. A couple minutes later, they were finally done with whatever it was. It would have taken a couple seconds for me to hand him the 2 euros and be on my way. But instead I had to stand there listening to his rather unprofessional handling of the young lady's situation. I'm sure that woman was only being nice and had no interest in him. Anyway, thankfully I got the air conditioning on and I figured if I stacked the thin pillows I could actually sleep in that room. My last night I had new neighbors, English speaking with American accents, so they were put on the same floor as me. The 6th floor, the not so good rooms. Coincidence? I think not. I cannot recall seeing a single Italian speaking customer on that floor. Appears this guy is playing favorites. And why does a hotel have a good section of rooms and a bad section of rooms at all? I won't be back, and I don't recommend anyone...
Read moreThis is an honest review of my experience. The hotel is a great location, has some faded grandeur but is basic. There is no tea or coffee or water in the room for example.|I paid for basic - basic is fine but complete inconvenience is not. |The main issue is the noise inside. The bedrooms had wooden laminate floors. They looked clean and modern and like a fairly new addition. This meant that every step in the room above and the rooms either side of it and the rooms next door could be clearly heard. Especially wheeled suitcases and moving chairs and the person in high heels who arrived when we were trying to sleep and walked back and forward to unpack 100 times. The doors are heavy and slam loudly especially the boys next door who went in and out of each others rooms until the early hours. This is not a hotel that you can have either an early night or a lie in.|Our package did not include breakfast. We knew this but asked if it was still possible to buy breakfast at the reception. Yes, he said 10 euros each. So we went to breakfast. The guy said he did not have our room down but it was ok. It was clearly not ok as a blazing phone call went on in the back room to Reception which was uncomfortable for everyone. And we were charged 12 euros.|Lastly the shower over the bath holding rail was gone (it was there once but holes were filled). You had to shower holding the spray over your head and washing with one hand.|The location was good and the...
Read moreWe had an awful stay at this hotel in Rome. When we arrived, the man at the front desk was extremely rude and took over half an hour just to assign us a room. The entire building was cordoned off with a huge generator outside — and despite the power being out, we weren’t emailed or warned about this beforehand. We were simply told on arrival that the rooms were supposedly fine. Unfortunately, the elevator was also out of service, and we were placed on the top floor.||Our room was damp, and the air conditioning was leaking from the ceiling. While the bed was clean enough, the overall condition of the room was poor. I knew I had booked a budget hotel, but this was well below budget standards. Our booking stated there would be a kettle with tea and coffee facilities and a room safe, yet none of these were provided.||Breakfast was supposedly included, but we weren’t shown where it was or how to access it. We tried to look ourselves, but going up and down multiple flights of stairs was awful, and the staff didn’t seem at all approachable to ask. There was no clear place to eat, no one offered any help or information, and everyone seemed generally rude and unwelcoming. The experience was so awful that we booked a different hotel the very next day just to get...
