Ristorante Donati — Restaurant in Rome

The food in this restaurant was an absolutely delightful surprise. We started with the bruschetta which had excellent flavor. The olive oil had a tinge of oregano in it which really added to the flavor. The bread had been scraped with fresh garlic. Perfect! We were in the mood for pasta, so Giuseppe, the son of the owner, steered us in the right direction. We had gnocchi which had a perfect balance of nutmeg in the sauce. You had to wonder if it was there, it was so subtle. We also had the house specialty pasta, “Donati”, a perfect al dente bite! The pasta is made in house. The chef is the mother of the family. I don't recomand this place, small portions of food, expensive and food is not even that good.If you are hungry and want some good food, try some small corner food place, they will provide a much better experience. They will also "make mistakes" by giving you at the end with some coffee,(might be some desert also, i don't know) but not telling u anything and after u drink it they will say it was a mistake and they will charge you for it. Our family of four had a wonderful experience at Ristorante Donati tonight. We ordered dinner from the 3-course tourist menu, which seemed a wonderful value for what we received. Our waiter spoke decent English and we had friendly conversation with him throughout our meal. The spaghetti was wonderful, the pork steak was tasty, and the tiramisu was home made and fresh. Those that said this is a tourist trap were clearly just trying to prove a point. This is a cute little family restaurant just a 3 min walk from Termini. I would most definitely visit this...
