Our recent visit to Rome took an unexpected turn when we experienced the unfortunate event of being robbed on the metro. It was a traumatic experience that left us feeling vulnerable, stressed, and fatigued. However, amidst the chaos and distress, there was one person who went above and beyond to restore our faith in humanity and ensure our stay in Rome would not be overshadowed by this unfortunate incident. That person is Ornella, a remarkable employee at Hotel Elite.
Upon our arrival at the hotel, Ornella, the front desk clerk, demonstrated a level of compassion and empathy that is truly commendable. She not only empathized with our distress but took immediate action to ensure our first impression of Rome would not be marred by the unfortunate incident. Ornella promptly contacted her manager and arranged an upgrade to a higher star hotel, completely unbeknownst to us. This act of kindness and generosity overwhelmed us during a time when we felt helpless and fatigued from the ordeal.
Throughout our stay, the hotel staff continued to exhibit exceptional hospitality and professionalism. Every member of the staff made it their mission to ensure that all guests felt welcomed and valued. They displayed genuine care and attentiveness, going out of their way to ensure our needs were met. It was evident that they took great pride in their work and genuinely enjoyed making guests feel comfortable.
Our overall experience with the hotel has been nothing short of wonderful. Beyond the stylish facilities and comfortable accommodations, it is the exceptional service and kindness of Ornella and the other staff that really stands out.
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome. Rest assured, you will be greeted by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making your stay as pleasant as possible. Ornella's exceptional service and the overall kindness and attentiveness of the staff truly set this hotel apart.

Read moreHighly recommended – excellent location, beautiful design, good breakfast, great air conditioning, and very good value for money.
The location of the hotel is perfect – almost right next to the Fontana di Trevi and just a few minutes walk from most of Rome’s major historic sites, surrounded by dozens of restaurants, bars and entertainment spots.
The hotel itself is not very large (3 floors, a few dozen rooms), and the design of the room I received (on the 3rd floor) was, in my eyes, beautiful – the walls were tastefully decorated, the wardrobes had wood paneling, and the very high ceilings featured impressive wooden beams. The bed was large and comfortable, and overall the room felt very inviting. The level of maintenance was excellent – both the room itself and the bathroom were very clean, and it was clear the hotel had undergone a major renovation in recent years.
I especially enjoyed the air conditioning, which was powerful and immediately noticeable as soon as you stepped in from the street. Breakfast was also very good, especially the fresh pastries, and the staff were extremely kind and attentive. For some weird reason the breakfast room didn't have air conditioning so it was a bit warm while eating.
The only thing I found odd in the room was the bathtub design – it was very narrow and deeply curved, making it extremely uncomfortable to stand in, to the point that it hurt my feet (I attached a photo to illustrate the issue). It was so strange that I thought it might deter me from returning to the hotel, but thankfully it seems this is not the case in other rooms. In addition, when I leaned on the glass window in the bathroom, I discovered that it was not fixed but could be opened, and I almost fell – I think this deserves a clear safety warning to prevent accidents.
Without a doubt, I will return (but next time I’ll ask for a room with a...
Read moreThe hotel does not seem bad per se and lots of the things we disliked could be fixed. But our experience, with the room we got, was neither worth 4 stars nor the money we paid for it.
Pros Very central location to start exploring Rome from Room was clean and nicely furnished Free water, cookies and coffee every day in the room little chocolate hearts on V-Day in the room and at breakfast were a nice touch Breakfast had a great variety of dishes from salty to sweet (although huge amounts of fruit flies on the fresh food and in the breakfast room in the first days)
Cons Located on an extremely touristy street, very noisy and not a nice vibe when coming out of the hotel Staff did not explain anything upon arrival (breakfast times, WiFi, Spa) Despite paying up to 220€ per night, our room was located behind the smoker‘s patio in a souterrain with little to no daylight (room 119). Smoke constantly came in through the closed door and it was super noisy especially on the weekend due to people being up late on the patio and in front of the hotel. No sound isolation towards other rooms, one could hear everything from the neighboring room and it felt at times like a budget youth hostel when our neighbors came home late and drunk There was a light in front of our door which shone through all night and could not be switched off by us - despite asking 4 different staff members about turning it off and them all saying they’ll do it, it was never put out. Overall very bad setup to get a restful sleep here. Staff was not very friendly (despite the breakfast manager and one extremely lovely receptionist who also offered us to switch the room at some point - which we decided not to do, as the upstairs rooms seemed very poorly noise isolated towards the busy...
