I never leave google reviews regardless of whether or not the restaurant is good. However, this restaurant motivated me to write my first ever google review. Congratulations on their part for making me this determined. I've been to many restaurants during my stay in Italy, and this place is by far the worst.
After I was seated, they did not give me the menu until I asked them to. I thought that the menu was something that should be given simultaneously as the guest sits down. Also, I noticed that my fork was not washed properly.
I ordered T-bone steak with pasta, Napoli pizza, and water. The waiter asked me to choose between three types of pasta, one of which is carbonara. I didn't hear the name of the third pasta properly (and to this day, I do not remember, let's just call it "pasta X"), so I asked him "pasta X?". He repeated the name of the third pasta and explained to me what it was. After listening to his explanation, I asked for carbonara.
My order came, and to my surprise, I was served T-bone steak with pasta X, instead of the carbonara that I ordered. The waiter mixed up my order. I didn't order pasta X, I simply said, "Pasta X?" to ask for clarification, and clearly stated that I would like carbonara. However, the waiter seemed quite upset about this. He said angrily, "You say carbonara, I give you carbonara.", even though he was to blame for everything that happened.
The newly served carbonara was spaghetti with scrambled eggs. Not to mention, he forgot the water, so I had to ask for it again. The T-bone steak was subpar. The quality of the meat was bad. It was very thin yet very chewy. The Napoli pizza was average.
After I finished my meal, I had to ask for the check three times and wait for 20 minutes. This restaurant deserves 0 stars. The only reason that it was given 1 star is that it...
Read moreWe had no idea where to eat on our last night but decided to walk towards the Trevi fountain, knowing there were a lot of restaurants in that area. Usually in any major city, close to where the tourist hot spots are, the food standards can be very variable. The temptation is there’s so many tourists, businesses don’t need to try all that much. We really didn’t find that was the case in Rome and Il Nuovo delivered great meal.
The service was excellent from all the staff, a special mention for Tamer who was friendly and welcoming. The mad Brits (us) had decided we wanted to sit outside despite the downpour, we weren’t the only ones and Tamer organised a dry table for us and we enjoyed the atmosphere while sipping a cocktail.
We had three courses each and everything was delicious. I had a beautiful beef carpaccio followed by three "small" (really not that small!) pasta specialities served on a platter. My friend enjoyed her burrata and anchovy starter, followed by an calamari and langoustine platter. Also great coffee. A very happy last evening in Rome. Thank you very...

Food selection related to specialty: we came here for breakfast. They have omelets and continental US/UK breakfast.
What we had: full breakfast and two omelets.
Quality of the food: poor. Everything was cold, the omelette was over cooked to a crisp as well as the eggs and the beans were nasty.
Would I get the same dish again? No.
Drink selection: coffee and juice.
Provides free appetizers (Amuse-bouches): not sure. We had breakfast.
Service: good but very slow, it took 30mins to get the food and the place was almost empty.
Interior design: normal Italian restaurant interior.
Exterior design: they have tables outside with heat lamps but no umbrella.
Ambiance: they play music videos on a screen and there’s a bar.
Cleanliness: pretty clean.
Value for money: not worth it at all.
Reservations recommended: no.
Would I visit this place again?: no.
Would I recommend...
