Just Chilling Suite — Hotel in Rome

From start to finish our stay was absolutely lovely. Bruno and Francesco exceeded themselves and provided an excellent hosting experience! We experienced extremely bad delays with our flights which meant we arrived in the early hours of the morning. Bruno organised our transfer along with Francesco who reassured us that we had nothing to worry about, picked us up from the airport and processed a speedy check-in so we could get some sleep after a long journey! A very professional service and even offered to walk us to a nearby restaurant if we were hungry! The location is brilliant and within a 15minute walking distance to the Colosseum! Very easy to walk to other tourist sites within the city however we took advantage of the many e-scooters dotted around so we could see as much as possible during our short stay. The room was extremely clean with a turndown service each day, a lovely touch to return to a tidy room at the end of each day! The bathroom was lovely and clean too with great pressure in the shower. A mini fridge in the room which was lovely to keep our drinks nice and cold, AC which helped keep us nice and cool when the nights were stuffy and hair drying facilities provided too. We didn't need to use them but I did notice ironing facilities were available if needed! Our flight home wasn't until the evening so we were able to leave our luggage in a secure locker during the day before we were transferred back to the airport by Francesco! An all round...

The reviews for this place are oddly too optimistic for what we got.

The rooms are hardly worthy of 2-stars, while there are a dozen of 4+ star hotels in the area that you can get for a similar price.

Things wrong with this place: (photos available) • Place is poorly maintained - there are occasional cracks, leaks, peeling paint, there’s was a hanging metal rod detached from the edge of the table, warm water is very unstable • The cleaning is superficial - there were cigarette butts in the drawers, there was a dirty wet towel in the closet, there was hair in the jacuzzi, if you turn on the lateral water pumping feature in the jacuzzi you will fill your room with a rotten egg smell; these things cast serious doubt on the overall cleanliness of the other amenities, incl. bedsheets, pillows, towels, etc. • Our room was dark (small window in the corner) and poorly designed • The air conditioning was a disaster, we couldn’t warm up the room properly during our first night and the room was cold upon our arrival (in December!).

Please remember that we are reviewing a place that is charging 80-100€ per night.

Bruno is supposedly kind, but when I told him we will limit our stay to 2 nights, he turned not so kind and charged us an additional 20€.

Overall, I was surprised that there wasn’t a single poor review on both Google and Booking. Something about that...

Really wonderful place to stay whilst in rome, close to colosseum 10 minute walk away & easily walkable to other attractions. The property itself was clean, towels were replenished, good air con & big windows to let in some fresh air, bed was very big & comfy, complementary bottles of water in mini fridge too which was a nice touch. If you're struggling with transfer to and from airport then make sure that you ask the property providers as they are able to offer a helpful pick up and drop off from both airports, we went to ciampiano which cost €39. A special mention to francessco one of the owners of the property he was brilliant when he picked us up from the airport i had an issue with my ear being in pain and badly blocked from the pressure & without any hesitation he drove us to a pharmacy & was able to translate my issue over to the lady working there, without his help we would have been lost, he truly went above and beyond to make sure that we had what we needed and that our stay was as comfortable as possible. He also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat, what to do & what to avoid, very informative & very helpful, he also came into our room to show us how to work the ac, the shower & other appliances, this property really made the experience of rome a lot better and allowed us to relax a lot more!
