Il Brigantino — Restaurant in Rome

First time visiting italy and this was the first place i went to eat lunch at. I think it is save to say i am more than pleased with my stay. All of the food was just great. The drinks seemed quite overpriced and at the end of the day i spend more money at this place than intended. The staff was just so kind and helpful on top of speaking good english, which ive come to find is not that common here in italy. The restaraunt itself was in a small space but it made it very cozy and welcoming. Perfect start to my trip in italy. I would most certainly recommend visiting here. It is not the cheapest restaraunt and they do charge you a extra fee for every person sitting at the table. Over all it was a nice meal we had here. I definetly will remember this specific place...

My buddy and I both got the same pizza and it was very alright. It was the Capricciosa Pizza minus olives and it had barely any ham or artichokes and was kind of salty. We ate it though because it was good enough but we got some pasta afterwards and neither of us could put a dent in it because of just how salty the pasta sauce was. It was the Rigatoni alla gricia and it was like someone dumped a whole thing of table salt into the pasta sauce. Maybe some of the other food was good but not what we chose. Service was mediocre we asked for the check and never got it till we asked multiple times and the waiters couldn't have cared less. We were lucky to walk by Il Brigantino on our last evening in Rome. The place was busy at 8:30 pm and conversations at most tables were in Italian. Both are good signs. We had no reservation but after a short wait, a table became available. The menu is extensive but certainly dominated by pizze. We started with a classic bruschetta (very good) and had a pizza fungi (very good) and lasagna (good). But then came the highlight: desert.
