Generally the rooms were clean and nice. Same with the bathrooms. I appreciated the free water in the mini fridge during the heat wave. My only issue is the room I stayed in was incredibly loud. The views were lovely but the room is located above a restaurant/bar and there is little to no noise proofing in the room. I had the windows closed with the wood accross both front and back of the window and tried to pull the curtains accross as much as I could. I had ear plugs in and it still sounded like the street was in my room.
It would be helpful to maybe have more functional curtains to assist in blocking the sound.
Either way just a heads up to maybe request a quieter room as I know not all of them face that direction.
With that said they were very friendly and accommodating. And it is in a great location as the major spots are walking distance. Also the hotel accross the street has a lovely garden terrace in the back that’s very peaceful if you want to get away from the hussel and bussel. Drinks are a little expensive but great quality wine list and the drinks come with a variety of snacks (essentially for one person...
Read moreOverall a fantastic boutique hotel and I would have given this hotel a 5 star if it wasn't for the street noise.||Location: Perfect spot near the Spagna metro station. It is very convenient for walking around many of the main tourists highlights. ||Room: The room we stayed in (I believe 103) was gorgeous. Tall ceilings and windows that looked out towards Trinita den Monti. The set up was nice, there was lots of space. The bed was large and comfortable. ||Hotel: This is a small, boutique hotel with only a few rooms. Alessandro went out of his way to check us in and the hotel was very clean.||Cons: The main issue I had was the street noise that kept me up/woke me up. The windows are tall and old, so there are gaps that let in a lot of the noise. At various times during the night/early morning you'd hear delivery people or garbage trucks. For me a good night's sleep is most important at a hotel, and I think they could really benefit by upgrading...
Read moreI agree with a previous reviewer – don’t wait - just book this! We typically stay at 4-5 star hotels (2 adults; 2 teens); this was our first time in a guest house or B&B. This property is beautiful. Alessandro is incredibly professional and helpful. He is always available in his office down the hall or by phone. He recommended lovely places nearby for breakfast. He arranged airport transportation. The rooms are beautifully decorated with delicious in-room espresso. Bathrooms are impeccable. We had a “family” room with plenty of room for 4 and a huge balcony with opera singers at night in the plaza below and a gorgeous view of St. Peter’s dome. The location is terrific – at the top of the Spanish Steps. The property is a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon. And steps to Metro Spagna, which is only 4 stops to the Colosseum. When we returned for one last night after a trip to Amalfi we felt as though we had...
