We had a mostly good experience at this hotel — the service was friendly and the location is excellent. However, on the third night of our stay, we found a lot of ants in the room, especially in the bathroom and even on the bed. We couldn’t sleep the entire night — imagine trying to rest with ants crawling around your room. We spoke to the front desk around midnight, but were told the hotel was fully booked, so no room change was possible. The next morning, they arranged a different room for us in the afternoon. We were offered a bigger room in the next building, which they said was an upgrade. While it was larger, the rug was full of dirt, and since it was our last night in Rome, we didn’t want to bother changing again. When I brought up the ant issue to the manager, I was told it’s normal during ant season in Rome. However, I checked with a friend who lives in Rome, and she said this kind of problem is usually more related to cleanliness than the time of year. To add to the frustration, they made a comment about us having garbage in the room — likely because we were traveling with our baby. But the truth is, we asked the front desk every single time to collect the trash after diaper changes, and they always agreed to do so. It felt unfair to be blamed when we were doing our part to keep the space clean.

I recently stayed at a beautifully renovated hotel in Rome and wanted to share my experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel features a charming hall outside the lobby, where guests can sit and smoke. Our room, accessible by elevator, was stunning and exceptionally clean. The bathroom was spotless and looked brand new. The room also had a fully stocked minibar and a welcoming note, which was a nice touch. I particularly loved the interior design and the large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The room was well-equipped with all the essentials, including a hairdryer. One of the standout aspects was the housekeeping service, which cleaned the room twice a day, both in the morning and the afternoon. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options, both healthy and indulgent. The breakfast area was clean and tidy, and the staff kept the food well-stocked. The coffee was fantastic. However, we did have a small issue with the Wi-Fi, which was not strong enough for our TV but worked fine for our phones. The hotel’s location is perfect, close to the Spanish Steps and a great shopping area. Overall, I highly recommend this newly renovated hotel. It’s beautiful and well worth the money.

My husband and I stayed at Room Mate Filippo in Rome for a "second honeymoon." We had the absolute best experience here. The rooms were beautiful - tall ceilings, nice decoration. They were also very comfortable - great air conditioning (best I have ever had in Europe), the most comfortable beds, black-out curtains (we slept for maybe 10 hours the first night after our long flight!), and complimentary robes in the rooms. The front desk was so friendly and kind - I sprained my ankle and they helped us get ice. Also, they have cold water and Prosecco at the front, which was very appreciated in hot July weather. Make sure you get the breakfast at the hotel - it is delicious and they are open from 7am-12pm, much longer than most places, allowing you to sleep in and enjoy the wonderful rooms a bit longer in the mornings. Finally, the location is perfect. It's down a quiet alleyway but you can walk right out into the city. Lots of cute restaurants nearby and walking distance to most major attractions. We will absolutely be back to this hotel next time we visit Rome. I already can't wait!

I read your reply about my review and you are incorrect on your timeline and response to the problem.

We asked the desk to remedy the problem with streaming on our TV the 1st night we arrived because the "Internet" was not allowing us to connect and stream our programs. It was stalling and timing out and we would get error messages.

That next evening when we came back to our room nothing had been done so we asked the desk manager on duty again to remedy the problem which they could not and said they would have someone look at it the following day again. We asked if we could be moved to another room where the TV might be working correctly and were told that the hotel was full and that wasn't possible.

The next day, while we were still out sightseeing, I called and spoke to the desk manager on duty, a woman this time, who after a few calls back said that she didn't know how to remedy the situation and we'd have to wait until the NEXT day. That's when I wrote my review because it would be 3 days without the internet working or streaming made possible to the TV.

On the 4th night a gentleman came to our room after you obviously read our review and said that he was sorry the internet wasn't working and that he had been on the phone with your internet provider the entire week because it hadn't been working correctly and he didn't know when it would be fixed. I suggested a hot spot using a phone and he said he had to call you to see if he could do that and after speaking to you he came back with the phone that you let us use as a hot spot so that our internet would work and we could stream tv.

That was the second to last night we were there so we used the hot spot 2 days total and were without any internet connection for 3 days just as I said in my review.

Everyone completely ignored our requests for help until AFTER you read my review, then you became interested. So for you to suggest that you remedied the problem right off the bat and were properly taking care of our requests is untrue. It is also insulting that you offered 15% off of our last night stay as compensation for what we went through.

Very unprofessional...

Well located for most places in Rome, yet situated on a quiet back street. The frontage is very low-key, simple yet elegant.

The inside is, however, stunning! The staff friendly and very helpful. The facilities are top-class with an honesty bar, a gym, roof top terrace and fab breakfasts :)

The room we stayed in was fab, huge bed and remarkably for Italy: a big bathroom with a wonderful shower!

OK, there are a few oddities: the lighting throughout the room is wide, varied and generally excellent, with the exception of the entrance, hallway bit where there is no light except for the one in the wardrobe (which isn't very bright), the wardrobe itself is big, with a decent amount of hangers, there is a safe, a well stocked minibar, and rarely for Italy a kettle! However, this is wired into the cupboard and must be used on the shelf in there. The steam is slowly going to wreck the inside over the following years.

Other facilities are a desk, bedside tables and a fab TV. Continental channels only but we plugged an hdmi cable in that was connected to a mobile device for the odd bit of Brit TV.

Be warned though there are no drawers, not one and only really two usable shelves in the wardrobe so small items t-shirts, socks and underwear aren't really catered for.

All in all it's a lovely hotel, not quite perfect but I'd wholly recommend it and hope to stay...

It’s been almost a week since I returned from Rome after spending 4 nights at this amazing hotel, and I still can’t forget the incredible people working in this place: I was hospitalized during this short visit, and the help and support I received from the staff all the way to the general manager had made me feel like I was staying with family or friends. Steven, the manager of the hotel, had called me while I was in the hospital, to ask how I was doing and if there’s anything they can help me with. The team had placed extra mineral water bottles in our room and even purchased prescription medicine at a local pharmacy for me because I was too weak to walk. Besides this experience I would definitely return to this hotel because everything about it is perfect: the central location yet at a quiet street, beautiful design, lovely spotless rooms with everything you need for a great stay (super comfortable beds, convenient bathroom with all necessary high quality amenities, even a mini toothbrush and paste, air condition, reasonably priced mini bar, even the bathrobes were great), fresh and tasty varied breakfast. And once again, the wonderful team working at this hotel, always kind and patient. Miriam, Soraya, Francis, David, Steven (sorry if I forgot anyone😳) you are the champions🤩and I hope to see you...
