The restaurant has 'good' ratings but I advise anyone to be cautios when dining there.
I first asked the waiter for local wine recommendations which he showed me on the wine menu but I decided not to order since I would have been the only person to drink from our family dinner. Nevertheless, the waiter has decided to bring a bottle to our table which I kindly declined. This could be a simple misunterstanding and no big deal but apparently the waiter (a very large guy) took this personal as he stopped serving and treating us friendly for the remainder of the evening.
We ordered truffle Risotto for 3 persons and were asked by the waiter whether we want black or white truffles and we ordered white which is much more expensive. When we received our dishes, I realized that we were given black truffles only. I kindly asked the waiter whether we got the white or black truffles risotto and he mentioned that we got the ordered white one and the white truffle was inside the "sauce/foam" only which really does not make sense selling an expensive white truffles risotto with black truffles on top...
While serving drinks, starters and main course we were unfortunately treated very poorly due to us not accepting the wine in the beginning. The waiter did neither ask how the food was nor commented on anything - but did this with other tables. We were disapointed by these events and decided to not order desert at this place and enjoy a gelato somewhere else which the waiter understood and when ordering the receipt they corrected the dished to be black truffles risotto and not white (huge price difference). This was an indication for us that they realized we understood that we were getting fooled by them.
As per our experience, we can not recommend this place as they seem to operate dodgy. Similar reviews confirm their business practice...
Read moreI am super frustrated with this restaurant. Back in Rome after many years, my wife reserved this place for the first night, totally destroyed my good vibe. The place looks very modest (this is a polite understatement), with scratched walls, plastic plants, cheap furniture. I’ve been to cheap / bad looking osterias, but then food was good or decent. This was not the case. First I had a Battuta di Fassona. Hands down this was the worst I ever had. The truffles were tasteless, felt like eating paper. A sign for low quality truffles is when they bring the truffles in the plate already…they do not shave them in front of you. The plate was seasoned with super market quality mustard. Not even a sauce, it was plain super market cheap mustard. Typically the plate comes with grissini or at least 2-3 types of bread. This came with some very basic bread, looking someone went to the nearest super market to buy some cheap bread. I am sorry I did not take some photos. Second course was pasta with truffles. Same paper tasteless truffles (not shaved in front of the client) and some super boiled pasta (should put to shame anyone pretending to cook in Italy) and swimming in some white tasteless sauce. The wine list is very short and the Brunello I ordered was quite bad. The room where we stayed was only with tourists, literally no one was speaking Italian. Probably another warning sign that it’s literally a tourist trap. I am really surprised by the high ratings...
Read moreI went here as it was my first day in Italy ever and this is a highly rated restaurant on Google and a few streets away from two major attractions( Galleria Borghese and Trevi Fountain)
I went there early 19:15 and was pleased to be seated right away without a reservation as I can imagine this place being quite popular.
The place looks lovely and located in a quiet street.
The initial interactions with our waiter were good. He saw us stumbling in Italian and immediately switched to English, which we appreciated.
The menu looks great and seems to have lots of Truffle options( some of the reviews of the Truffle are less than ideal but I've not had much experience and enjoyed what I ordered)
Our pastas were great too, kudos to the chef.
I assumed that part of the Italian dinning experience is that one is allowed to eat their meal and are allowed time and space to enjoy it without interruptions.
Apologies if I got that wrong but our waiter cleared our table (twice) while one of us was still eating. He then came back and asked if my wife was done, when she was clearly not.
I had wanted to explore their dessert menu but at that point I had lost my appetite(other patrons have said great things about the dessert).
To be fair, almost everyone recommends that you move away from touristy places to experience an authentic Roman meal perhaps I didn't...
