B&B DolceVita Sorrento — Hotel in Sorrento

Location. Great Central location bang in the midst of the food places, tourist shops, few mins from piazza Tasso and also the public villa with access to the port and beach. There is a mini super market off Corsa Italian a few mins walk away. ||Room. Very spacious bedroom in apartment. We had a small kitchen diner and ensuite and dressing room. TV swung out so you could change the orientation. Electric hob warmed up quickly. Air con worked well. Two issues let the rating down.||1. Not good soundproofing of exterior walls. We could hear all the noises outside as if someone was standing right outside our bedroom door. You could hear the music and talking and walking in the street below.|2. Shower was too small, was stiff upon opening and closing and also the water did not flow at a constant rate. ||Service. This was excellent as provided by the landlord, Etorre. When we lost our way getting to the place, he came out to look for us and guide us back to it. When we checked in, he spent a good 20 to 30mins with us explaining everything about Sorrento... He didn't overwhelm us but gave us all the essential bits of info.. Including Travel tips, how to get to where, excursions, good food places, what to avoid. On day 3 we wanted to go for a tour of the amalfi coast. Etorre got back to us with 3 good value for money options. He then went with us to the local tour operator down the road so we could make a booking.||Overall we had a great time in Sorrento because Etorre made us feel welcome and helped us...

Our son & daughter in law had stayed here & said the location was fantastic.

A lovely warm welcome by the manager in charge of oversight of the B&B who gave a lot of valuable information for the area to explore. explained in great details the operation & running expectations of the B&B whilst staying there. He also carried our luggage to the room up the stairwell which was greatly appreciated.

The room was dated with old fashioned furnishings but very adequate for our needs we did have the larger room with a wardrobe desk chair & kettle.

The room was thoroughly cleaned immaculately each day which really impressed me of her hard work as the shower screen each day was spotless, fresh towels daily was really nice emptied bins daily I found the whole process to be well done felt that our personal belongings were always safe. I did find the single bed to be extremely hard and it did hamper my much needed rest whilst staying in Sorrento the manager assured us it was a new mattress which is like a futon mattress on wooden slats no inner springs or softness at all to rest a weary body at the end of the day.

This place is a gem in the heart of Old Town Sorrento with every delight at your doorstep shops cafes bars restaurants close walk ways to beach ferries marinas

A nice touch would be to have two wine glasses and two water glasses to drink out of rather than paper cups.

TL/DR: There’s nothing good about this accomodation except the location. And even that wouldn’t bring it to 1 star. Not recommend| |We had booked a room overlooking the street but instead got a dark dingy smelly room at the back. He tried to sell it as he did me a favour downgrading the room | |Bed was rock hard, so sleeping was impossible. You can hear every sound from the corridor and neighbours and around 8:15am there’s the weirdest bell that goes off. No chance to sleep in. | |The hair dryer in the bathroom was the most useless I’ve ever encountered anywhere. Completely pointless having it at all. | |There is a small kettle but only cheap green tea was available to drink. | |The so-called safe is a small lockable, portable tin. A joke.| |The person greeting us was the most patronising person I’ve met; he gave us a 20min lecture, instructions in how to use a key, made me repeat which key was which and demonstrate to him I knew how to use a key, told I weren’t allowed to eat anything in when in the room, being told to not slam the door, not to use WhatsApp we had chatted on earlier to communicate with the owner - he’s too important. | |When the cleaner had been they left the balcony door wide open.
