If you've ever wondered what it's like to sleep in an ant colony- book a stay here! Our room was infested. Hundreds of ants in the bathroom, in our luggage...even in my retainer case (extra dose of protein when I put it in in the dark-that was a shock)! It was a truly immersive experience. We informed the front desk, and they offered to come spray, but no one ever showed up. Instead, they returned our call at 11:30 at night- long after we'd given up waiting and gone to sleep, since we had an early morning excursion. The next day, after another complaint, we were moved to a much smaller room (though we'd paid for a more spacious one-what a way to spend our honeymoon). When we checked out, they refused to offer any compensation- not even for the downgrade in rooms. The location is lovely, and Sorrento itself is magic, but this hotel's management made our stay far more stressful than it needed to be (gaslighted by the staff when they told us, "It's nature, it's fine..." if we wanted nature we would've stayed at the RV Park down the road). Would not recommend, unless you have a deep love of insects and and indifference. The rooms themselves are beautiful and newly renovated if it weren't for the ants it would've been a wonderful place to stay.

This place is just special. We had an issue with our initial accommodation and we had to last minute book a place to stay in the Sorrento area. We initially picked here due to its close location to central Sorrento (15 minute walk) and it’s very reasonable price for a four star hotel with breakfast included. We initially were greeted by such lovely staff at the hotel. We saw our room and were instantly blown away with how clean the rooms were and the incredible views were from the windows/ balcony. We ended up extending our stay here for a further 4 nights staying now in the economy room which was just as clean, comfy and had the same stunning view. The staff are what made this trip special though. They were attentive, helpful and went out of their way to make our trip that bit more special. Opening the bar for us out of season hours so we could enjoy a drink, providing us a packed breakfast on our last day and allowing us to use their staff iron as we did not have one due to our change of initial plans. If you were hesitating to stay here, please don’t. You are in great hands and will have a great time staying here.

I cannot say enough great things about this beautiful hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and we do not want to leave. The people here are so kind and helpful and made our experience perfect. We stayed on the 3rd floor (rm 303). The room and bathroom were huge and very clean. Everything we needed was here. The breakfast was fabulous! The easy walk to the square area was refreshing and only about 10-15 min. Coming back up was gradual and not hard. Beautiful views! The views this morning from the breakfast area were stunning. The views from our balcony are also stunning with views of Mt Vesuvius and Pompei as well as the Campania coastline. The water is so blue. The pool and sun patio are very nice with amazing views. Don't pass this place up. Wow. I sure hope the other places we stay in Italy are as nice as this place. To all of the staff at Hotel Miramare, Grazie mille and Bellissimo! Ti ricorderemo sempre! ❤️

Let's start with the positives. Large rooms, though small showers, with million dollar views over Sorrento towards Napoli. Everything is light marble, white walls with blue accents. It can lack warmth for some tastes.||There is a sun deck with loungers and a pool (about 9 meters by 3 meters) which is unheated so, during some periods it is very cool. Too cool to swim in comfortably but lovely to hang out and have a break from the tourist chaos that is Sorrento. ||It is a 25 to 30 minute walk from the main train station. 3/4 of that walk is flat and the last 1/4 is gentle uphill slope.||Be warned that the sidewalk on the uphill slope can narrow where you have to step onto the road when passing people or wait. The last 200 meters or so is an experience. The white line is 25 to 30 centimeters from solid wall and you are walking it, depending on which side you choose, with cars, bikes and busses whizzing by. Sorrento drivers seem used to tourists and their driving is organized mayhem.||The staff is friendly and helpful. Give enough notice and every request will be endeavored to be filled.||Yes there is road noise during the day. The Italians talk with their horns. It becomes part of the "music of Sorrento". ||The breakfast has a fair bit of variety. If I were to be picky it's a coffee machine that automatically makes cappuccino rather than someone using a traditional expresso maker and milk steamer. It isn't quite the Italian cappuccino one might expect.||Due to the marble floors sound does carry. Doors close like they are slamming but guests figure it out pretty quick to try to be respectful. We always slept fine but other reviews have commented about noise issues which I can understand if a guest is loud and tromping about.||If you stayed down in Sorrento there would be the party nightlife noise to contend with.||Staying at Hotel Miramare makes you feel a bit elevated in style. Yes it's a 10 minute walk to the edge of the tourist district of Sorrento but the million dollar view is worth it. Overall I'm pleased with my choice for the price I paid. The hotel has wonderful outdoor areas which I appreciate when taking a break from the tourist chaos...

If you're planning a trip to Sorrento, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Miramare — it was truly one of the highlights of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.

The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. It offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, and it's just a short walk from the main town center. Whether we wanted to explore the charming streets of Sorrento, hop on a ferry to Capri, or simply relax and take in the scenery, everything was easily accessible. Being slightly away from the very busy tourist center also meant we enjoyed peaceful, quiet evenings with stunning sunsets.

Service at Hotel Miramare was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. From helping us arrange tours and taxis to recommending the best local restaurants and hidden gems, their local knowledge was invaluable. You could tell that hospitality isn't just a duty here — it’s truly from the heart.

The food was another pleasant surprise. Breakfast was a delightful spread of fresh fruits, pastries, cheeses, and traditional Italian options, all served with care. We also had dinner at the hotel one night and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can taste the passion in every bite.

Above all, what stood out to us was the hospitality. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like visiting a dear friend’s home. Small touches, like remembering our coffee orders or greeting us by name, made a huge difference and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay.

Overall, Hotel Miramare in Sorrento perfectly blends a stunning location, excellent service, delicious food, and heartwarming hospitality. It’s the kind of place that leaves you with beautiful memories and a longing to return. We can't wait to...
