Our second visit to this idyllic place was even better than the first! My daughter and I had an amazing time and have already booked to go again next year. Where to start - the location is superb. The views from our apartment were mesmerising. So relaxing. Perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries for the winter. Facilities are great and the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. We were lucky enough to have a suite with a private pool but there is another for general use which is great. We used taxis for the 5 minute ride up to the town which worked perfectly for us. We visited several restaurants there and the food is absolutely amazing which is one of the reasons I couldn't wait to return. Totally delicious every time. The town gets very busy with a fantastic selection of shops so it was lovely to return to the peace of the apartment. Two highlights were the Taormina Opera which we loved and also booked a massage on the terrace by the pool which was fabulous. The apartment is perfectly located for all we wanted to do during our weeks stay. We booked a private taxi through Roberta for the taxi to and from Catania airport which was perfect. Roberta is extremely helpful and assisted with all our queries and requests very promptly and efficiently. All in all a perfect holiday and can't wait to return...
Read moreJust like all the reviews - the place is great! Best bits for us (2 friends without a car, 2 nights): The infinity suites really are as beautiful as they look Paolo is very helpful and gave lots of food recommendations They gave us a little welcome package we didn’t make the most of! The bus goes direct from the airport to 200m from the building -€7 one way Ask Paolo if you want something! He supplied dressing gowns when we asked, and we probably should have asked for extra towels and milk on arrival but we didn’t and then it was almost over… so we felt silly to ask! The place is definitely big enough for 2 couples. Off peak is a great time of year - the sunrises (when the pool is prettiest) are less early in the morning, and town is less crowded. Weather is hit and miss, but you should just stay longer to compensate!
Only downside - I found the wifi a bit hit and miss (but phone reception/5g good) and the coffee machine took 5/6 presses to get a long coffee. Neither were an issue for us.
Also - again not an issue for us but worth flagging that the infinity pools are the ground floor of a c.Three story building, so they are technically overlooked by others. About half of the balcony is ‘private’ half other guests can...
Read moreReally nice hotel with amazing views of Isola Bella and the coastline. We had a phenomenal room with a private infinity pool. The only downside was the pool was not heated. We were told it was heated but it was not and that was definitely a draw for us to come. They tried to warm it up but it didn’t make a difference. I think if they could find a way to heat the infinity pools (as well as the actual pool) it would be a fantastic year round location. The hot water ran out fast in the shower too and it wasn’t very busy. I feel Iike that might be a huge problem come tourist season.
As most of the other reviewers have already commented, Paolo was very helpful, courteous and professional. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very friendly as well. But paolo definitely made a point to go above and beyond to help, and his English is very good and easy to understand which was very nice.
Overall great place. No restaurant so plan on eating out or bringing food to cook. Very nice set up to cook though and we had one of our best dinners after hitting up the local Deco.
We will...
