Villa Monti — Hotel in Varenna

Amazing find.

We stayed in July 2019.

Just up from the centre of Varenna, five minutes away from the 'hustle and bustle' - (not that you could really call it that anyway) .

We stayed in the Tulip room with the 'folding bed' and the balcony. Well....don't worry about the bed it was as comfy as a normal bed, and we just left it down for our 3 night stay. Clean, reasonably equipped and a pleasant environment.

The balcony was amazing and spacious. Fantastic views of the lake. Few insects at night, but we never got bitten. Probably bring a repellent or similar. This is only as its surrounded by the fantastic greenery on the hillside.

We mainly liaised with Christian who was fantastic. Helped us with directions to the place, booked us taxis, made reservations and recommended places to eat that suited our palates.

The pool area was secluded, and open to all residents. But with only a few rooms there was always a place to sit and chill.

Thanks Christian and MG for a fabulous stay. The Villa's Primrose apartment was great for our family of four. Adults had their own room, and the kids had their space. Plus a living room/dining room to hang out in our have meals. We found it very relaxing that the Villa was a few hundred yards from Varenna proper...at times it was very busy in town. The small pool deck was great for a dip in the pool or sunning. The table at the deck hosted two dinners for us...I think this is the best dinner view of Lake Como. I recommend buying your beverages and groceries at the Imperal about 15 minutes south in Mandello del Lario. The shops in Varenna are small selections and...

And excellent stay. Room and toilet was clean, bed comfortable, and room amenities bountiful.

The best part of the room was the view! Absolutely gorgeous and best view of the lake in all Varenna.

What makes Villa monti best is that its not near the hussle and bussle of town: but its its own villa with private grounds and a pool, located very high up with unblocked views of the lake! Absolutely excellent stay and would recommend.

Also; shout out to Christian! The best and most friendly and helpful of hosts. He is attentive and very responsive over WhatsApp and will attend to...
