We ate here last night as our preferred restaurant wasn't available, and we needed a last minute option as it was getting late for our family with young kids. Awful experience overall . The waiter was beyond obnoxious attempting to upsell us on a big starter vegetarian plate, and then 2 large pizzas for 2 children. He didn't want me to order the pizza I wanted and kept trying to persuade me not to. Seriously. My husband intervened to get me what I wanted. Since when should that be necessary?!?!? The starter plate arrived, and was awful. He refused to give us house bread before the pizza arrived and lectured me on not giving bread to children before their food. This is at 945pm when they hadn't eaten, and the pizza was late. He upsold us garlic bread instead which arrived with no garlic. When the two pizzas arrived, he had messed up the order by making them cheese pizzas instead of no cheese. Yet more delays. I had ordered a regular margarita with onions, and what arrived? A regular cheese pizza with shredded cheese on it, nowhere close to a margharita with fresh buffalo mozzarella. Totally lackluster experience all round with a terrible, arrogant and patronizing waiter and lots of attempts to upsell mediocre food. Avoid...
Read moreI was in Venice just for a day and night as my return flight left from there. I was enjoying a walk through Venice when I happen to pass by Trattoria Al Poggio when I heard and saw Tiziano interact with potential patrons outside. The energy was so compelling that when I got back to the hotel I looked up the restaurant reviews. They were amazing and so that evening I made reservations. The reviews are all true. I walked into the restaurant asking for the owner Raul. When informing him about the reviews I had read he quickly also gave praise to young gentleman called Iman. Just that to me showed class from the owner. In an instant he made me feel at home and even though I was alone, he gave me the window table. I ordered the tortellini Alla Panna and prosciutto along with a plate of fried calamari and wine. The preparation and deliciousness of the dishes along with music, restaurant decor and the heartfelt interaction with Raul the owner and staff made this single night out a memorable one. Trust me, go there firs. Enjoy the delicious food but also take a moment to interact with the owner and staff. It only makes the food that more...
Read moreThis restaurant is a tourist trap. Food was terrible and made my husband’s stomach very upset afterwards! Unfortunately I did not take any pictures since the presentation was not great and I was not going to write a review. However, lasagna’s consistency was very smoochy, it had no meat in it, instead it had weird watery pink sauce that almost tasted like it was frozen. Breaded chicken was tasteless and dry. Blank ink spaghetti was okay but I am not sure about freshness of their seafood.
An employee approached us in the street. Once inside we had to wait 10 minutes to be seen by a server after we sat down. By the way, they played American sex themed songs on the background the whole time we were there.
The bathroom was a disaster. Very small and smelled like a cockroach poison. Overall experience is awful, considering my husband’s upset stomach in a little after we...
