me and my friend stayed in the top ‘painter’ room with the roof terrace as advertised on airbnb. although the room was separate from the hotel, the hotel ai do mori staff were in charge of keeping our keys and cleaning our room during the day. the room itself was lovely and the roof terrace hosted the best view of the basilica and surrounding area. however there were a few problems with the hotel staff. 1. at 5am we were woken up to the sound of someone trying our door several times, 2. my friend and i (we are both females in our early 20s) were woken up to the cleaning lady wandering round our room at 6am! we first heard a lot of rummaging of our bags and my friend saw her in the bathroom which is strange as we were both asleep in bed, and cleaning did not begin till 10am. when we confronted the lady at reception she said it was a mistake however to me, it is all a bit strange that the cleaning lady continued to wander through our room as she saw us sleeping. 3. we did not feel that our valuables were safe and being young females we should have been made to feel safer than we did. 4. after both these events, the hotel lady insisted she needed to enter our rooms as we were leaving for a day trip for some important air con checks, we said no she can come when we’re back, and she never did which again felt very suspicious. 5. after all this the air bnb man Alvin never replied to our messages and there was no contact from him...
Read moreWe arrived at Venice and walked to the hotel which is very close to the San Marcos Piazza. We were early so we decided to go to the hotel finding it to be is a very old building not well maintained and the registration was at on the second floor with very narrow stairs so don’t go there if you big luggage. The room was not available yet so we decided to walk around and see the San Marcos area. We returned to the hotel later finding no one in the front desk and had to search for our room key. Once in the room we immediately noticed it was not what we expected. The room was not so clean and there was a dirty towel hanging from the wall right next to the bed. No clean towels were available and no one was there to help us. Had to get on the my phone to call someone to help us and only got instructions to where to go and find towels. I was absolutely blown away and so angry but I said to myself it’s not going to ruin my day in Venice. We just managed that night and my wife and I had a wonderful time together exploring the streets in Venice. It’s absolutely stunning but I will never forget the fact of such a disgusting hotel and can believe it’s in a beautiful place like Venice. If I could give it less than one star...
Read moreMy family visited Venice and we wanted to stay somewhere near San Marco square. We found this hotel just a block away and it was perfect for us.||||The staff was friendly, helping us check in and check out with no issues. The room wasn't huge, but it met our needs. The beds were comfortable. The water was hot and had good pressure. The hotel had free wi-fi as well, which was nice.||||The location was walking distance from basically everywhere. It was right in the center of everything we wanted to do. There were many great places to eat and shop less than half a mile away and of course the San Marco Basilica and Doge's Palace. The water/boat public transportation (vaporetti) stop was nearby too, just a tiny bit farther, to the water. ||||Only complaint was we were several floors up and there was no elevator, so walking up the stairs at the end of a long day was an effort, but in general this place worked out...
