Hotel Santo Stefano — Hotel in Venice

I came with my wife and our friend to this hotel one week ago. We stay only 30 min in this hotel, because on the foto and description was cheating. Also the main reason personal is not competent, and when you have some problem cleaner tell you it is your problem! We have long trip with deferent sites in Italy, and make mistake (small mistake) with booking, we booked 2 rooms not for 4 persons we have booked for 2 persons. In Münchin before it was without problem, in Roma also (after). When we came to this hotel, we made check in (4 person was in small reception) and came to the rooms, from reception we got info like your booked was since room, we told ok sorry and get check in. after that we came to the rooms, and see these rooms maximum 7 m2 (in description 10 m2), and the main reason without WC and shower in the room only on the stage. This info was not on the description, go after that to reception and ask can we pay more for the better room, but got answer no we total booked. it was evening and we want to go for the dinner, when we go, on the reception told us must stay only 2 person another go away!!! it is really for us was surprise because ok our mistake we will stay on this fa...ing rooms, but now they told only 2 person. We try to describe situation 5 times but at the reception we were constantly interrupted! we asked to contact the manager, but there is the same situation! after which we were told you can pay extra 300 euros and stay! In the same rooms! they just didn’t fit us like all normal people! but the most important thing is that we got nasty and tried to kick us out when we paid for everything! Considering that we made a reservation through booking, we are now solving the problem with booking!

and if you do not want to be deceived, I do not recommend this...

The room that I booked (#5 on the 3rd floor) had a short bed. I am not a super tall person (188 cm/6.2 in), but I couldn't fit into it. My legs were tight against the non removable table that was located in front of the bed. So I asked if I can switch the room. The staff made it clear that this switch will be free of charge and I agreed to change the room. The new room was perfect at the first glance (#12 on the 5th floor) but only till I heard the strange loud noise for the first time. The problem is that in the same room is located an entrance to the elevator maintenance room. There is located an elevator engine and this room is separated from my room with the decorative glass. And as you can imagine, the engine makes pretty loud noise that even walls can't absorb, not to mention the thin mirror. I found it extremely inadequate to invite guests to such a place and pretend that it's okay. Literally, the host at the reception gave me a surprised look and said that no guest has ever complained about it. You can imagine that this sound is there during all day till the late night, until the last guest goes to sleep as all of them are using elevator. So my nights and mornings were terrible. I immediately asked to switch my room back, but that was possible only after two days. It's better to sleep crouched rather than not sleep at all. On top of that, during the check out I was additionally charged with 101 US dollars. Bravo! PS: Poor Wi Fi on the 5th floor, windows are not...
