Massimago Wine Suites has real potential. It is extremely well located; its rooms are large and for the most part well-appointed. There are, however, enough problems for it not to be good value for money. Considering the expense of staying here. some of the problems need to be fixed. The air conditioning is controlled from the main office, meaning that you cannot make your room cooler during extremely hot weather. This is exacerbated by the fact that for large portions of the day there is no staff member on the premises. There are not posted staff hours so it is not possible to predict when someone will be present. For example, after our first night of 27C we asked for something to be done about the air conditioning. Upon returning that afternoon apologies were made for not being able to correct this so we were offered a room change. We hurriedly carried things into the new room, with the help of a staff member. Within about half an hour I noticed that none of us had cleared the drawers from the first room. It was not until 8:30 the next morning that a staff member was there to help us get back into the room to retrieve our belongings. Small things should be easy to remedy and would help to bring the b&b up to the standard it could be: warn guests there is no breakfast room at all. Start checking to see if there is milk for making a cappuccino in the coffee machine, or if teabags are available. These things are not checked daily. No tissues available. No new towels offered during the 4 days. This is not 4 or 5 star service but could be remedied with care. The location is still excellent and the rooms are still large. Maybe the rest of the problems are going to be addressed. At present it is not the lovely oasis of calm it could be and is certainly not worth the cost of staying there. A personal touch is missing and in accommodation that needs to be special and could be special this is...
Read moreThis was such a wonderful Wine & Food experience at an unique location. The place is very quiet and the view over the vineyards is just beautiful. They have a big garden (which Francesco is taking very good care of with a lot of love), an inviting swimming-pool with a top-view over the vineyards and a lot more. Alessandra was so kind to show us around the house, telling us a lot about its history and so much more. She’s a very kind person and an excellent host. ||Initially, we just pre-booked a Wine Tasting with cheese and a bit of dry-meat. However, Edwin (the chef) recommended that we should choose a 4-course Menu instead. We’re so happy we did. For cooking, they used their own vegetables from the garden as well as the wine we were having to each dish. It simply was outstanding cookery. At the time, we were the only guests and decided to have lunch directly in the wine-cellar which was georges and definitely added up to the whole authentic experience. For the first course, we had a very refreshing sparkling wine (rosé) from which we simply had to buy a carton because it was so good. The following courses were simply a delight too.||If we had to come up with some downsides (which there weren’t really any), we can only mention the driveway up to the winery which was a bit too much of a country road for our sports car - but we managed it anyway. What’s more, we’re sad that we had to leave so soon, getting to the next Wine-Tasting on time. ||All together, it simply was an exceptional experience and we highly recommend the place to go for a...
