Lovely little apartment with local Familymart 5 minutes down the road. There are buses just a few minutes walk (around every 30 minutes) to Lake Ashi or Hakone-Yumoto train station. Train station is around 10-15 minute walk with a hill hike but manageable.
Check in and check out was super easy and the guy that greeted us spoke English and was extremely helpful. Provided helpful information with bus timetable and maps.
There is no lift to the floors/apartment so your elevated step count will increase and if you are tall be careful with low rangehood and avoid the top bunks (especially climbing up)
Place was new, clean and warm (host kindly had the heater on when we arrived so it was lovely entering!). Coffee pod machine (nespresso) provided. Kitchen, separate toilet and bathroom.
Towels, linen, toiletries etc all provided. Plenty of USB ports...

It is just about 10-minute walk from the train station in Hakone-Yumato, so not far from the shopping and restaurant, but there is a slope to reach the hotel. It is self-manned, but they were flexible enough to receive our luggage we sent from Tokyo, which was God send considering the mentioned slope. The room is spacious, it has a kitchenette, a goo bathroom (toilet separate from shower), AC and TV. Note the tv does not have streaming options. Keep in mind most shops and restaurants close early in Hakone. After 7 pm the few restaurants (pizzeria and yakinuku that are open are full) so best stock up as there are only vending machines near the hotel. Also as mentioned no elevator,...
