Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in Japan, the atmosphere was everything. The old japanese geisha house takes you back and let's you feel the authentic Japanese vibes you came for. The hotel is clean and well handled, every staff member who handled us was more than amazing. The Burger restaurant is off the charts with it's amazing burgers! Mind that the price is a little more than what you are used to in Japan. The privates Onsen gives you the Japanese experience with your partner that you cannot have on many places for this price, it small and comfy. Mind that it is shared and you have to book your time when arriving to the hotel. It very old fashioned so do not expect something fancy. Last but not least, the breakfast is provided to you beforehand and you heat up the bread and soup, we got a tomato soup and more pastries. We had it in our room and it was great! Make sure before coming that it fits you.

Enjoyed a stay here with friends. We had both the traditional tatami room and one with a standard Western bed. The provided breakfast was quite decent and included a soup, bread, and sweet bread. They also provide coffee, black tea, and green tea. The onsen is really nice, and the scheduling system is really helpful to make sure you can enjoy it privately. The check-in and check out procedure through the tablet was very easy as a Japanese resident, but I'm aware that for travelling foreigners, it was a bit more complicated. Be sure to have your passport on hand. There aren't always staff there, but the restaurant staff on the first floor were very helpful and lovely. The river outside is quite loud, but I personally found the flowing water sound quite relaxing.

This place was an absolute delight! I stayed here with a friend. The private onsen was lovely, and because there are only 3 rooms and no back-to-back bookings (reserve for 1 hour max at a time), it seems like everyone was able to reasonably use the onsen. Futons were comfortable, area is quiet, room temperature control was to our liking. Breakfast was also a really cute set, filling, and delicious! The staff at Box Burger in the same building were friendly and welcoming. We only stayed for one night and decided on food elsewhere, but I would have loved to have extended our stay and try one of their burgers! If I visit Hakone again, I would definitely consider staying here for longer!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in June 2024, and it was by far our favorite place we stayed during our 2 week trip to Japan. We came in on the train from Tokyo and walked from the station to the hotel, and we were greeted with the warmest welcome and the most tranquil, charming boutique hotel. Because it’s a 3 bedroom home reverted to a boutique hotel, it was very quiet and was very authentic ryokan. Our room was good size, with wonderful views and floor to ceiling windows. Our tatami mats were very comfortable as well. We enjoyed all the amenities, from the basement onsen (perfect for 1-2 people) to the delicious box burger restaurant attached. We were walking distance from town and a bus stop to take us around the mountain town. The staff was beyond incredible. I highly recommend this dreamy hotel, it’s perfect for people looking for a totally unique yet...
