We always stay with Toyoko Inns when travelling through Japan. Not only is it pretty cheap, you also get free breakfast and pretty fast wifi. ||||Staff were always friendly whether you were checking in, getting breakfast or needing to ask something. They had a good range of resources for the surrounding area and were always happy to help. ||||We spoke Japanese but many of the staff also speak basic English at the minimum. ||||It is in a good location and easy to get to. We had a car so great carpark option. It is a budget hotel so don't go expecting the Ritz. All of their hotels whether its brand new or 30 years old all have the same decor so once you get over that then its perfectly fine. Rooms were nothing huge but with a bit of adjustments you can arrange your luggage. There is space under the bed to store big suitcases but as we were only there for one night we left them out. It had Tea/Coffee facilities along with a small fridge and TV. ||||Bathrooms were the standard Japanese Pods that most hotels seem to have. Everything was very clean and we can't really fault it. If you're looking for a place to sleep with some extra add ons then this is the place. ||||The pillows are traditional Japanese (half rice / half fluff) but as we had learnt from last time to bring our own pillows we slept very well. The pillows are fine but if you are a sensitive sleeper then pack your own or pick one up if you are planning to stay in several of them. ||||I would stay here again, as I would with the rest of the...
Read moreRooms are very small with a plastic pod pod of a bathroom. Large suitcases are an encumbrance but there is room under the beds if your baggage is not too huge. The location is great for the Peace Park and memorials. The breakfast station is pretty small and virtually all Japanese other than toast. The lobby was boiling hot when we were there in late May. There was a very slow 3 bar toaster oven so we skipped a ten minute wait and walked five minutes to the Family Mart. Coffee is available but in tiny cups that are scalding hot so double up on the cups and get a couple! If you like Japanese food (this is Japan after all) the breakfast will delight you. The Reception staff are young, fun and colorfully dressed in pink and yellow. They were very friendly and helpful. This is a good, clean, reasonably priced location for a few days in Hiroshima. Free WiFi but it only works...
Read moreTypical business hotel, small rooms with pod bathrooms. Bed very firm but comfortable (if you like hard beds). Bathroom small but functional, hot water and deep baths if you want to soak after a long day. Breakfast totally Japanese style with the exception of hard boiled eggs and white toasting bread. Miso soup very nice. The ladies at check in were very friendly and accommodating, although their English was limited (although better than my Japanese). For some reason they asked if we wanted the room cleaned to which we answered "yes" only to arrive back to find towels, toothpaste, etc in a bag outside the room. The bed was still unmade and no sign of the room being serviced. As it didn't take a minute to make the bed, no big deal. |Not far from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and eating / shopping areas. There's a 7/11 across the road...
