Nothing fancy about this hotel – it does the job. Quite a cheap stay in a basic but adequate room. A good feature was a nice view of the volcano, Sakurajima, from my window. I had thought I’d booked a hotel close to the station – yes I did, but not to the shinkansen station, Kagoshima-chuo. The hotel is quite a long way from this station but of course there is a tram that is very convenient – if not a bit slow! The hotel is close to the ferry terminal. There is an annoying lack of power plugs in the room – these are only in the bathroom so not so good for charging phones, computers etc. ...
