Connect inn 祇園四条 — Hotel in Kyoto

We booked this stay through Air BnB and the experience was fine. The check in process was simple, the beds were comfortable and the room generally felt clean (GREAT bathroom). We were a little frightened when we noticed the can of roach killer underneath the desk but we found no bugs. The air conditioner could use a good cleaning as we noticed what looked like mold spores inside and felt like we could smell a bit too. The hotel is cheap and clean. Huge bathroom with walk in showers. Its a bit out of the way approx 30 minute walk/10 min drive south of Gion tourist area.

Big issue I had. This hotel is automated - no on site staff. when I got to the hotel, it was locked and I had no way to get in or get to my room. I had to wait 30 minutes after speaking to my travel agency and they had this poor employee of theirs walk 30 minutes in the heat from another property to let me in. Great location, easy to check in, comes with washing machine and dryer, downside if you stay top floor, you’ll need to carry your luggage up, if you stay lower floor, you’ll heard the footsteps from the top floors, but no doubt that this is the perfect location in Kyoto, in the middle of all tourist locations, near the train station as well, even night time you can easily go out for a walk nearby the Kamo river. 7 Eleven is...
