A good hotel in a very convenient location. About a block away from the river (for those morning runs), from a grocery store, from Gion and from the main shopping district. I stayed in the twin bed room, which was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. Amenities included a small smart TV (which could stream Netflix and YouTube), a kettle and coffee cups, complimentary bottles of water, a very small fridge, plenty of wall power outlets around the room and by the beds, an onsite laundry room (ground floor), fast WiFi, and a spacious bathroom with plenty of privacy (separate rooms for the toilet and shower/tub, and a sliding door separating the bathroom from the beds), and complimentary toiletries (toothbrushes, combs). However, some amenities are notably missing or lacking (no microwave, no room safe, no onsite gym) but these did not interfere with my stay here. The room also only came with one key card, and there is a fee for replacing the card if you lose it. The staff were all very friendly and spoke English. I also made some online Amazon purchases while in Japan, and the front desk had no problem receiving and holding the package for me, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again...

Hotel staff at the front desk were friendly and provided water bottles when we requested them. This hotel was in a great location, close to transit and sight seeing areas.
We completed laundry during our stay. There is one washer and dryer located on the first floor. Just note you may have to pay to run the dryer multiple times as our clothes were still very damp after the first half hour was up.
Our only complaint is that the bathroom door was frosted and a mirror was placed in a spot in the room where the other person in the room could see in. Felt a little uncomfortable as we preferred a little...
Read moreI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of Kyoto city. It’s just a short walk to both the train and bus stations, which made getting around super convenient. Plus, it’s very close to major shopping malls Takashimaya where you can buy Marukyu koyamaen matcha. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. They also have a washing machine and dryer available, which is really convenient for longer stays. However, there’s only one of each, so if it gets busy, you might need to wait your turn. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto! They also has nearby Izakaya that the owner was so kind and foreigner...
