Hotel Seiki is located only 5 mins from Kyoto station so transfer from Shinkansen or train is an easy task.||This is a budget hotel and I chose this to experience a traditional Japanese Tatami room. The room like other average Japanese hotels is small so there really is no room for huge luggages. ||I got a good deal , as the price I paid is comparable to a hostel. But I get to have my private bathroom . They also set up a tea table when not using our Tatami mattress so it’s a nice touch. I would not recommend this to tall travellers , I myself am short but still found moving around the bathroom a challenge and I found myself bumping my knees in all sorts of places 😂||Prior to arriving , the hotel management sent a very detailed instructions on what to do if I get in early as their check in is strictly at 2 pm and reception is unmanned from 11pm to 2 pm the next day. ||I rated it a three (average ) as I have severe allergies and found myself with a sinus headache, the next day which means ventilation is poor or vents are not cleaned properly. The staff were able to call restaurants and inquire about allergies and make reservations.||The room even though it was small was comfortable and fairly quite (although this would depend on who you're near). The futons were comfortable for someone who has never slept on one, although they took some getting used to. There's a washing machine and dryer on the roof, which is great and has a lovely view. The motel seemed to be well built as I was there during an earthquake and there appeared to be no damage.||The location is great as it is located near Kyoto station and Aeon mall, there is also a family mart across the road. ||The bathroom may be a problem to those with mobility issues as it is small and has a large step to get into plus stepping into the bath to shower. Also the elevator doesn't go to the top floor and you are required to use stairs, if you have a problem with stairs I would recommend a lower floor (1-4).||Overall it's a clean and nice hotel at a reasonable price with...
