Spain bar Hablamos — Restaurant in Kyoto

Extremely bad experience. Food was below average. The only good thing we had was the Spanish ham, which is something they just import from Spain. The rest was tasteless. But the worst part was the staff and the service. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine and they brought it to the table already opened. What?? I've never seen this in my life before. And although the restaurant is supposed to close at 11pm, from 9:30pm onwards, we got somebody coming to the table every 5 minutes to tell us about last hot food order, last cold food order and that we had to go because the kitchen was closing. They kicked us out, with really bad manners, at around 22:30... Amazing. Definitely the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in Japan... and it's really hard to find a bad restaurant in this lovely country. A lovely surprise without reservation. We found it near our hotel and it was simply wonderful. Kyoto’s is a lovely city and the staff at Hablamos made the evening even better with wonderfully prepared food. We sat by the bar so we got to see all their hard work took place (with smiles). An upbeat restaurant and you can feel the vibe and dedication in their menu. I am experienced in Spanish cuisine and it was a lovely surprise to see they add their personal twist in their cooking style. My stomach is too small to try the full menu. Well...

Cute Spanish tapas place near the station. Was only a block from our hotel so decided to check it out. Loved the vibe, we got Seattle’s at the bar area in front of the chefs so had a wonderful view of the chef stations in the kitchen. Partner and I had the tortilla, pickled makerel, pan con tomate, and pickled vegetables. They brought them out one at a time so had some time to talk and eat.
