Tomomura — Restaurant in Kyoto

It's a nice ramen restaurant near Kyoto station. It takes about 5 minutes on foot from Hachijyo gate. The price is reasonable, 980 JPY per bowl. If you eat a lot, you should definitely order Chiken Karaage on side, additional noodel (120 JPY) or more Char siu meat. Lunch combo is available. The taste of ramen is a traditional Shoyu based one and a bit salty but a nice touch during summer. There are less than 15 seats but the waiting time should not be that long because rotation rate is fast....

A simple but delicious ramen that beats most other similar outlets hand's down. The broth is clear, no miso, or whatever types that the many ramen stalls tried to market, yet full of flavour and deeply tasty. The karaage is served hot and is juicy. We loved our experience here! We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to try their ramen as my son loves ramen. Their ramen was delicious, the broth for us was just right and seasoned well, staff are friendly and hospitable. I noticed the chef himself tries to interact with his customers despite limited english, which I really appreciate as it shows his care for his customer’s dining experience.
