Me and my boyfriend booked one of the rooms on the 5th floor from 2017/12/23-12/25. It was a good deal on Agoda and everything on the site looks good. However, when we got there we did not have access to our room. There is no concierge, the door was locked. We later found out that we have to get the room key from the mailbox as we see other guests from different floors (different owners). we asked those guest how do they retrieve their keys from the mailbox. they showed us a separate email including the mailbox password, which sent by their guest house owner. We did not receive any other email other than a confirmation mail from Agoda. On the email there is an attachment indicating “special check in instructions” on which it says “we will guide you to the room”. We tried everything possible password for the mailbox including our booking reference number and pretty much any numbers we see on the mail. Nothing worked, and we had spent more than 4 hours to sort the situation out. We called the owner, for one number they did not pick up, and for the other it was not registered. We called Agoda hoping that they could help us find the owner. Unfortunately neither can they reach the owner. We ended up giving up the room and went to find a hotel carrying all our suitcases and carry-ons. Besides that the area is really close to the red light district and the center of Motels (known as love hotels in Japan), and it was a solid 15 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. Bad location. Tremendous hassle. Not recommended!

Read moreLocation location location.. the hotel is strategically at a busy area with a lot of duty free shops and convenient stalls. I guessed it must be a refurbished old apartments that you typically see in a Japanese big cities. Those tiny apartments they now use it as a hotel room.
First if all, it is tiny but It has almost everything in the room for you from cooking hob and hood to fridge to microwave to washing machine to a bathroom that has a heater function to dry your clothes! The bathroom a but tiny but that's the Japanese size. Looking at the price and location, its worthy.
The hotel also very busy with tourists, I see non stop tourist coming and out. If possible, asked the reception to give you a lower floors room so that you can just use their staircase, don't have to wait for the one and only lift that serve the entire hotel.
Breakfast is nothing to shout about. They do hired a lot of foreigners that can...
Read moreThis has got to go down as one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. It looks like a jail. See hall photos. The rooms whilst clean are more like a students room. Bedroom is ok but the pillows are so thin. Asked for more and I was rudely refused by the front desk man. The toilet is tiny with a basin and tap over the cistern. The bathroom is tiny with a shower head at waist height. Very small shower bath tub. On our first night and morning there was no hot water. The breakfast area is so so bad. Instant coffee from plastic thermos type dispensers. The food selection was very basic. We didn’t stay and eat as the area was so bad. Went out for a decent meal. This hotel has only one elevator so be prepared to wait a long time if on a tour. Basically the hotel is a dump....
