This could be a better hotel but service was really lacking here and I wish they had better service from the staff. But then again this could be a cultural thing because most of the hotels I've stayed at in Japan, service has always been just okay. Staff members were polite as most japanese people are but they won't make exceptions. Rules are absolute no matter what. The machines to check in seem impersonal and if you have staff members standing there checking people in, why do you need the machines. This was a mistep in my opinion and they should go back to the traditional checking in method. The room was clean and the massager was a nice touch but rooms are way too small for two people. If you are staying here just make sure you book one room for one person. We booked ahead and for some reason our rate was super high and then it came way down and got cheaper. So our stay wasn't affordable at all and we did try to speak to the hotel to add breakfast for even one person to offset the costs and they wouldn't budge. Checkout time is also a strict 11 am and they wouldn't budge on that either even though we didn't check in until around 630 pm the night before. You have to pay if you want to extend check out time. Would I stay here again? If I had to book one night then sure I would but I wouldn't even bother to book weeks ahead on Agoda because rates and room availability are all over the place and it doesn't reward guests who book ahead. For example, on Agoda it would show 3 smaller rooms and one big room and if you travel with a friend , you would need to book the big room but the big room is crazy expensive. Then a few days later or a week later, suddenly you have 2-3 different big room types but at a cheaper price and sorry too bad, you already booked a non refundable rate so you are stuck. This is a marketing problem between them and Agoda and this...
Read moreOverall, my stay at Hotel Forza Osaka Kitahama was a pleasant one. The hotel offers a variety of convenient amenities that truly enhance the guest experience. From soothing bath salts to a selection of teas, razors, bath clothes, and a free coffee stand, the hotel goes above and beyond to ensure that guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay.
The rooms at Hotel Forza Osaka Kitahama are average in size, which is typical for accommodations in Japan. While they may be smaller than what some travelers from the US are accustomed to, the rooms are well-appointed and have all the necessary amenities. I appreciated the presence of a couch, refrigerator, massage pillow, and TV in my room, as they added to the overall comfort and convenience of my stay.
One area where Hotel Forza Osaka Kitahama could improve is the internet connection. During my stay, I experienced frequent disconnections while on video calls, which made it difficult to communicate effectively. Additionally, streaming video content proved to be a challenge, as even low-quality videos struggled to load properly. It seems that the hotel may have a preset setting to limit user data usage, which can lead to inconsistent and frustrating internet connectivity for guests.
In conclusion, Hotel Forza Osaka Kitahama is a lovely hotel with many positive attributes. The convenient amenities and comfortable rooms make for a pleasant stay, but the inconsistent internet connection is a notable drawback. I would recommend that the hotel address this issue to ensure that guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience during their stay. With some improvements in this area, Hotel Forza Osaka Kitahama has the potential to be an even more inviting and accommodating destination...
Read morePretty good location : near two metro stations, a good amount of convenient stores and a coupe of nice cafés in the area.
Rooms are somewhat spacious for Japanese 3* standards, however a bit noisy, one can hear the wind despite the windows being closed, and some constant noise from the equipment in the room, in addition to that the adjacent street sees a lot of activity during the night (Ambulances, Motorcycles, …) if you’re not a heavy sleeper this might disturb your stay.
Room layout was quite interesting : a sink in the hallway, toilet in a separate small room, bathroom/shower in another room and the bed+TV in the main area. A layout that seemed odd at first but it ended up being a good optimization of space to allow two people to prepare for going out without stepping on each other toes.
Service was disappointing, pretty much every interaction was met with an urgent need to get rid of the customer, as long as you are not here for a checkout -which is done by a machine- you feel like you’re disturbing the staff… maybe the language barrier didn’t help but even the simplest requests (getting a taxi, forwarding luggage…) were tedious.
Rooms are done « on demand » , unless you specifically ask for it the only thing that is done is change of bathroom towels , which would be fine if some of the newly changed towels cleanliness was questionable (brown marks on a "clean" towel are quite visible).
And after a couple of interactions with the staff it didn’t seem to be on par with the level of service expected.
I wouldn’t recommend a stay here unless you’re in for 2-3 nights max and do not plan to request any service...
