This is NOT a FOUR STARS HOTEL !
First of all, STOP promoting your hotel as a FOUR STARS hotel at booking.com, google etc. You are NOT a four stars hotel and this is very misleading and deceiving. You are a 2 stars hotel and at best 2 1/2 stars. You have a big sign at your entrance (see picture attached) stating your hotel as a 3 stars hotel. Why are you promoting your hotel as 4 stars, which is consciously misleading! You are in an old 6 storeys building, a tiny lift that’s fit two people, a make shift table as receptionist, some tiny pastries nearby on another makeshift table as your breakfast, no proper restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch or dinner. Your lift is not card control which means anyone can come into the hotel and goes up to the room. In the room you don’t have a proper writing table and a proper wardrobe. You don’t provide body lotion, shower cap, shaver etc. You only provide a toothbrush and a toothpaste, a typical of a two stars hotel. You DO NOT HAVE any facilities at all. You can ask any rating organisation and you wouldn’t pass a FOUR stars hotel rating or even a three stars rating.
Secondly, we will in shock when we came back at night to a UNCLEAN ROOM. When we asked the lone receptionist, we were told that we did not place the magnetic tag Clean the Room at the door. This , we were told was inside a small print note inside our keys card folder.. Really? You expect us to read your small print rule inside a small key folder? We travelled all over the world and we have not come across such rule at any hotel we stayed in. If we don’t put the PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB sign at our door means the room needs to be clean. Period. This is default at any hotel. You expect us to use the tiny toothpaste for two days or night when it is only enough for a day!
Thirdly, we were again shocked and really upset when our friends joined us for another two rooms two days after. We booked through booking.com , click for two person room, gave two persons names that will be checking in and paid for this two persons room all IN ADVANCE. We were dumb-founded, aghast and astounded when the front desk asked us to pay for additional person arguing with us, the guests, that we only booked for one person even though their own iPad showed two person names in their registration. We vehemently refused to pay for the additional person they requested and they finally relented after calling their superior or owner. This is so upsetting and unnecessary for guests. We have booked a two person room in advance. We have provided two names in advance. We have paid for two persons room in advance. There is NO EXCUSE at all to asked us to pay for an additional person. Period !
Needless to say, we will not go back to this hotel. Nor would we...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights in a room overlooking the river on the 5th floor and enjoyed our stay in this quirky and relaxed hotel. There is one lift which worked OK during our stay. The staff are an asset to this hotel. They are friendly, professional and very helpful. We enjoyed chatting to them and they gave us good advice and recommendations. We even received a type letter, which was slipped under our door, with a list of vegetarian dining options, which they had researched and we very much appreciated. The hotel is well located in between two stations, so getting around Osaka using the subway system was easy. Our room (501) has a balcony looking over the river, which we enjoyed. It was a fairly good size bedroom and included a small sofa. The bathroom is also a good size. The room was clean and provided toiletries in the bathroom. There is a good view from the roof top but to be honest we were out most of the time and just needed somewhere nice and quiet to sleep. We don't really have any negative comments. We did hear the subway rumbling noise from 5am, but it was not loud enough to keep us awake. Also, if we left the balcony floor open we could hear the traffic from the busy roads across the river but once the foorvwas shut, we did not hear the traffic. The breakfast is literally just a roll or bun with coffee or a fruit juice, but this is pointed out on the hotel website. We would also question the 4 star rating and whether our bed was queen size as described, but none of this impacted our stay in a negative way. We would definitely stay again and...
Read moreWe recently were in Japan for 2 weeks, and since my husband was at a conference in Osaka for the first several days, we chose the Boly for that time. Wow is all I can say!!! While most of the other people at the conference were stuck in a standard chain hotel, we were luxuriating in a Riverview Suite at the Boly for the same price. The room was absolutely lovely, with every amenity you could need (except an iron--which seems to be something you don't find in a hotel room in Japan, based on everywhere we stayed). The view from our room was so pretty, and it was pure pleasure to spend the mornings and evenings sitting on the balcony enjoying the river breeze. ||||The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and well-stocked. We had a small fridge, a kitchenette, large desk area, tv, humidifier, A/C, hair dryer, coffee and tea making stuff, pajamas and robes. There was even a washer and dryer for free use (with detergent provided!) just down the hall (although the dryer took about 2 hours per load). ||||We also had a free breakfast in the small cafe next door each morning. It was one of our favorite parts of the day, since the place also had a patio on the river. ||||The hotel has a lovely rooftop area. We looked at it, but never used it, since our private balcony was so nice. It was located in a very convenient location for several subway lines, restaurants and shops.||||We were sorry to leave--this hotel set a very high standard which was not surpassed by any other place we stayed for the rest of the trip. I would highly...
