The service is in need of some big improvements. It Does not measure up to Japanese standards. Feels like you are checking into a hospital for a medical examination or a dental appointment. The lobby fragrance disperser is too strong. Smells like some kind of unnatural and artificial chemical scent. It was headache inducing while checking in. We asked if they could store our luggage for us since our check in time was later and the staff member asked if we had a luggage tag. Why would you ask us if we have a luggage tag if that is your responsibility to give us one? Of course we don’t have a luggage tag yet. We are waiting for you to give us one and to help take our luggage. Very illogical thinking and service. We also asked if there was any map of the area and they gave us a restaurant list instead and kept saying they understand when they obviously didn’t. If you don’t have a map then just say no and sorry. There is No need to act like you understand or to be too arrogant to admit that you do not. It isn’t professional.
There are cheaper hotels that offer more professional and hospitable service with a bigger room space. Even the Sarasa hotels offer better service than this place so it may be true that the Sheraton hotel group in Japan does not train their staff as well because they are an American based company and not originally from Japan.
Two stars for a very clean room and comfortable bed but very small in size indeed. I have been to other hotels with smaller rooms but the price and the service makes sense. This place does not. I must agree with the previous review about how Japanese brand hotels really do offer a better experience for...
Read moreFour Points Flex is Marriott's entry into budget Japanese style business hotels. Unfortunately, this Four Points Flex hotel offers a muted and lackluster experience. A lightly renovated Unizo Inn hotel with essentially new bedding, a throw pillow and curtains, the rooms are sterile and lacks character. Touches seen in other business oriented hotel such as bedside USB charger and under bed storage was not found in this hotel. The elevator is noticeably slow. Sanitation is a huge issue with hair found over the bathroom walls. The AC function is locked out during Fall and Spring seasons, be aware the rooms can become stuffy especially during hot Spring or Fall day.
On the plus side, the bedding was comfortable with the mattress offering a more stiff support. The location was close to public transport. It is a relatively new hotel built in 2019. If pricing is good and sanitation is improved, it is a reasonable option for a budget conscious traveller who wishes to stay in an affordable place in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. Otherwise, Japanese brands do a better job at providing a better experience for...
Read moreLocation was good, one station away from Osaka-Umeda and a few stations away from Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi area. Many eateries, izakaya and convenience stores nearby (family mart and 7-11). Also, the Keihan line (Kitahama Station) to Kyoto is just a 3-5mins walk from the hotel! Service was good and the reception allowed me to store my luggage for a few hours after I checked out. They offer to clean your room everyday and will leave a new set of towels etc outside your room if you stick the 'Do not disturb' magnet on the door. Generally it feels clean, however there was a weird stench in the toilet coming from the shower curtains, like it was not well ventilated so perhaps they may look into replacing the older shower curtains. There are free amenities such as toothbrush, razor and cotton buds available on level 2 (front desk) so do take note that you will have to take them yourself as they are not provided...
