Listing down the reasons why I loved our stay in this hotel.
The Hotel Itself – You would immediately notice the hotel is brand new based on the interiors, the furniture’s, and other room essentials. The room and bathroom is small as expected but this shouldn’t be an issue when you only stay there to sleep. Yes, opening your luggage is a challenge because of the lack of free space but you just have to find your trick. Free Hygiene essentials are available beside the frontdesk area and laundry, ice maker, and microwave at the second floor. The lobby have enough free seats where you can just hang out or if you have to few work, the desks have power outlets available.
The Staff – Even before our stay, their frontdesk responds to queries promptly. They also have staff with different nationalities so communicating wasn’t an issue. The two Japanese ladies are very accommodating, thoughtful, and kind.
The Location – the hotel is located in a quite neighborhood and within the inner streets. About 1-2 kms walk to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori area but you won’t even notice the walking distance. There are several konbini options and hole in the wall restaurants. The hotel is also near to metro stations (saikaisuji-hommachi and hommachi stations).
Areas for Improvement and Recommendations:
I appreciate the frontdesk who allowed us to borrow additional bed pillows for free. Although, I hope the management can invest in good quality pillows. 1 per bed is okay if it’s a good bed pillow for better sleep.
They said water from the faucet is safe for drinking. However, providing a free drinking water station would be a good addition to cater to travellers who don’t find drinking straight from the faucet as a good idea.
Improve in housekeeping and cleaning the rooms. On our first day, I found dusts and loose coins under the bed.
Overall, the hotel is value for money and will definitely consider staying again here on...
Read moreI encountered several disappointing aspects that detracted from an otherwise ordinary experience. While the hotel room itself was standard for Japanese business hotels in terms of size and layout, my overall impression was marred by the lack of accommodation and comfort provided by the staff.
First and foremost, the most glaring issue was the stiffness of the bed. Having stayed in numerous hotels across Japan, I was shocked by the uncomfortable firmness of the mattress. It felt akin to sleeping on a box spring rather than a bed, making it nearly impossible to get a restful night's sleep. Despite my request for additional blankets or pillows to mitigate the discomfort, I was dismayed to learn that the hotel did not have any spare blankets available. Instead, the staff offered me a makeshift "pillow" consisting of stacked bathroom towels, which provided minimal relief but did little to improve the overall sleeping experience.
While the staff members were polite and courteous, their inability to provide basic amenities such as spare blankets was deeply disappointing. In a country known for its hospitality and attention to detail, I expected better from Sanrriott Shinsaibashi. Additionally, the lack of responsiveness to guest requests detracted from an otherwise clean and well-maintained lobby area.
In conclusion, while Sanrriott Shinsaibashi may meet the standard expectations of a Japanese business hotel in terms of room size and cleanliness, its shortcomings in accommodating guest needs and providing comfort make it difficult to recommend. For travelers seeking a restful and comfortable stay, I would advise looking elsewhere for accommodation that prioritizes guest comfort and...
Read moreDo not stay here if you're expecting a good night rest. We booked in a 5 night stay and when we went to sleep the 4 of us could not sleep due to how terrible the beds were. Me my husband and our 2 kids were up all night due to the beds sticking into us. The walls were paper thin that we could hear the guy next door snoring. At 2am I went to reception telling them we had to cancel the rest of our stay as we possibly couldn't stay at this hotel another night. In all the years we have travelled this has never happened before that the conditions of the bed is so bad that no one could sleep and the walls are so paper thin that the snoring next door was keeping us wide awake. The hotel didn't care and said we can check out but refused to refund the rest of out stay. Given the terrible conditions and the fact that our kids were complaining of their backs the hotel should have done the right thing by refunding the rest of our stay. Again let this be a warning. It's not worth what they are charging. Pay a little more and get a better hotel where you can rest properly or stay further out of Osaka. It's not worth the sleepless nights at this hotel and horrible management that is just greedy and will deliver the poorest quality beds and service i have ever...
