This is a wonderful Japanese style breakfast/lunch place in the Shinsaibashi area.

I only came there for breakfast so I can't speak to the lunch. The breakfast is simple and consists of rice, seaweed, some Japanese pickled foods (varies depending on the day), miso soup, and the namesake egg. You can get it raw or steamed (raw is recommended) and mix it into your rice. All of this is yours for (as of Dec. 2023) 600 JPY (aka dirt cheap), about the price of a latte at other places in the area. I went three times during my five-day stay and it was never busy for breakfast.

The decor inside is quite simple but comfy and the owner likes to play western pop/rock. The owner is a very pleasant older gentlemen. He is quite conversational (mostly in Japanese) and friendly.
