The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Ever. In my life. And that’s saying something because I’ve stayed in some real dives.
First big issue: House keeping open the room even when the do not disturb sign is on the outside. They don’t clean it though. Just break in. And then remove the do not disturb sign from the outside.
The whole place smells like cigarettes, and if you stay here for more than a day, you, and everything you own will wreak of smoke. This is in the “non smoking” floor, which uses the same central AC system as the whole building.
The rooms are extremely hot and humid and you cannot open a door or window. It’s locked. When I arrived, my room smelled of someone else’s sweat and was showing a humidity level of 87%. For reference, human comfort zone is between 30% to 50%
If you manage to get the old tired AC to work and suck out some of the humidity in the air, it won’t last long, because house keeping will be sure to break into your room and turn it off again for you. Ensuring that you return to a smelly stinky room again, and again, and again.
As a nice finishing touch, there is a constant disgusting plumbing smell from the pipes in the bathroom that permeate everywhere in the room.
I have no clue, at all, why this place is rated so highly. It’s a bloody nightmare and it came very close to ruining my entire stay in Osaka because all I could think about was the dread of coming back to the smelly sauna of a room after it has been needlessly rummaged by disrespectful house keeping.
The hotel stinks, literally. Stay at...
Read moreFront desk staff are amazing here. Rooms are simple and clean. The reason for the 2 star rating is the breakfast buffet/morning staff. The woman was very rude to me, demanding I put on my mask while everyone else (10 people around me) had no mask on at all. I was the only white person in the room and she demanded I use a mask and hand sanitizer on my hands, I refused as the Japanese government said it is MY DESCRETION whether I want to use them or not. When I finally got passed the annoying woman working breakfast I saw that every dish was empty (eggs, bread, etc) every single plate was empty in this "buffet". At this point I was tired of the situation and just walked away. I have paid for two more days of breakfasts and I will be throwing the tickets in the garbage. 3000 Yen wasted. Thank you so much!
If you want to stay here I do recommend it, just stay away from the breakfast and the staff that works it, they are rude and apparently don't like white people (surprised about this in Osaka of all places). Save your money and go to the 7-11 around the corner and spend 350 Yen on actual good food. Personally I will never stay in a Sarasa hotel ever again. Respect everyone, all the time, regardless of where they are from or their skin color. It's...
Read moreStayed here for 5 nights in the twin room. It was so spacious, clean and modern. My job requires me to stay on hotels around the world and the mattress, pillow and blankets at this hotel are definitely one of the best ones I've stayed at.
The staff are all so friendly and speaks enough English to help out and answer questions. I personally appreciate they don't enter our rooms for cleaning. We get can garbage bag and other amenities in the lobby ourselves and ask for towels whenever we want them. Very nice touch of having a luggage scale available. Location is excellent. There is an elevator that is conveniently located 1min away from the hotel that connects to Crysta strip, which is also connected to the subway station. Wish I knew this on the way over!
The only downfall I'd say if I had to be picky would be the lack of sign for guests to leave used/ dirty towels in a bag before leaving it in the hall for staff to collect. Unfortunately I saw some of my room neighbors just leave their used towels on the ground outside..
All in all, really enjoyed my stays here....
