HOTEL KOJAN was amazing!! KOJAN made our trip to OSAKA one of the best trips that we've had so far. The staff were suprisingly fluent with intermediate english and were very welcoming and hospitable. The location is great as it is a 10 minute away from the Shinsaibashi Main Shopping district, a 2 minute walk away from Nagahori-bashi Station,1200Yen taxi ride fare away from Namba Station-Nankai line (airport line Rapi;t Lmtd Express) which is a direct train ride to and fro Kansai Airport. The place is surrounded with the travel essentials such as Convenience Stores (711 and Family Mart), Vending Machines, Restaurants, and Grocery Stores. Inside, the rooms are quite roomy ( we were a group of 7 Filipinos who booked 2 rooms by groups of 3 and 4).Even though the room toilet is small, it is quite serviceable and bathing utilities were already provided by the staff ( hot shower, soap, towels) and there were daily refills for all the items. They also had this phone that you can use to make international calls (free), use google map (free) and hotspot (300Yen unlimited daily) Big shoutout to the staff, the manager with the glasses, the girl with the short hair/bangs and girl with long hair and Hashimaru(?) (correct me if I'm wrong, he guywas the who welcomed us who was very fluent in English.. btw your SPOTIFY playlist rock). Also, we really appreciate the hospitality that they provided us when we were about to check out at the last day (checkout was 10am but our flight was 9pm) because they offered us to stay a little bit longer so we can enjoy OSAKA a little bit more. You might be wondering why I'm writing this comment very positively but they really deserve all the praise for the service that we have received. THANK YOU and hope that we could see you AGAIN when we come back to OSAKA. We will definitely stay with this hotel again!! - ROOMS 202 and 302...
Read moreHorrible and sketchy customer service, hospitality, and filthy rooms! Stayed here with a group of four in January 2025 during the last leg of our Japan trip and the front desk concierge messed up our luggage forwarding to Haneda Airport where we would have an overnight layover before heading back to the USA. The bald man, who is supposedly the manager, spoke English perfectly well and fluently, and there should have been no mistakes or miscommunication. We trusted Hotel Kojan with 6 checked luggage in the morning and he ensured us that it would make it on time to Haneda by the time we board our layover flight in Tokyo the following day.
However, when we boarded our flight in Osaka, we tracked our luggages and saw that they were still at the hotel. We went back and forth with the hotel to resolve the issue, and they claimed they were "embarrassed" by the error and were at first willing to cover the expenses to ship the luggages back to the USA. However, they later tried to backtrack and charge my party $2.4k USD to ship it via DHL. To cut a long story short, two people in my group had to fly back to Japan to retrieve all of our luggages due to customs issues with some items in our luggage with another courier. Hotel Kojan finally agreed to reimburse us due to the customs issue, which would have covered our expenses and was equivalent to the cost of shipping the luggages back to the USA.
One week after retrieving our luggages, they are dodging our emails about the reimbursement and claimed to have initiated the money transfer -- but no money or updates have been received.
Rooms were also poorly lit, damp, and the bathroom was tiny -- which is not unusual for Japan. However, there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling and shower curtains. Good thing we only stayed here for one night, but they messed up big time with...
